Actually, Stormseer, I think most of their stuff is produced on a comission basis. They only have one guy who's employed full time by Fanatic for sculpting (and his name's completely left my mind.... not good as I've met him on a number of occassions.... ). A lot of the other pieces come from those already employed within GW in some way, but its technicaly out of house since its done on their free time and not as part of their 9-5 work. They also commission a lot of their paintwork out to others (including myself and Agis). |
Oh.. yep, definitly right Tuffskull- I think Mark Bedford is the guy who works in house for them, and he seems to make most of the new Mordheim and Blood Bowl stuff, so I guess that was what I was thinking of, but yeah, much of the new BFG stuff has been made on commision (like the Tau for example- thats why they have taken ages to be released), and I remember Jervis commenting in a recent WD about some of the new Epic minis from various sculptors landing on his desk... heh.. silly me...

Anyone know anything further about this model?
Will it be a lander for E-A?

Seems doubtful I think Maksim, as it looks very old style.. Fanatic may produce an upgraded new one I'd guess though..?
On a completely unrelated note, anyone know why all the "news" in this topic are red?

Hi!
I dont think it will be used, perhaps as inspiraton for a upgraded version, but not in the current form.
What do you mean Stormseer, news in red?

Quote (MaksimSmelchak @ 20 2003 Sep.,17:28) | Anyone know anything further about this model? Will it be a lander for E-A? | I think that this model was originally created for SM1 ,there is a drawing in the rules somewhere

which was never made as an actual model, though it is apparent that a master was made.

Hi!
Yes, thats the one, from the codex titanicus. I never saw an actual model until this thread came up, but there are a lot of old AT era stuff popping up now, there are even AT era titan weapons on the GWUS site I never saw until a couple of months ago.
Makes you wonder how many goodies are tucked away.

Yes, that's from the Codex Titanicus rules and was in a W/D issue. There was a master model made by a Mr. Nesbit (?), we saw it on this site a few months back. I remember also. I doubt it's the new version, too "old school" ...

Hi!
Looks like the dropship for BFG, which I use in that regard for epic. It looks real big, which is appropriate for something that can carry so many troops.

Yes I have two of those "BFG" Dropships and that drawing shows some similarities. And Bob Naismith's model is on this thread on page 1. I guess I forgot ... DOH !

Hi!
Actually the BFG model is not a bad substitute for it, I was rather pleasantly by the scale and look of the model, you could beleive it was the legendary dropship.
