Jimbo,
And Jimbo pre-ordered the FW book this morning... expecting to get it in August, but it actually becomes available on the 1st of September. I saw the only copy in the UK (the other is in the USA) and it is a really really nice book and well worth the ?45. - Jimbo |
You mean that you ordered the new FW Imperial Armour book, correct?
We were also discussing the new Black Library Armageddon History book. Have you seen that one as well?
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

Excellent, as I really fancy getting this, just from the preview pages on FWs site, and what other infomation they released about it... Can you tell us a little about it from what you saw Jimbo...?
Cheers!

OK, now I am unsure if we are all talking about the same book. The book I saw this weekend and was looking forward to was the background book titled "Battle for Armageddon".
Here is the link: http://www.blacklibrary.com/backgroundb ... eddon.html
Is this the "history" book you are talking about?
If so, then I stand by my words. I did not like this one. If not then I am sorry to have mislead you all.

O.K., the Forge World book is more about vehicles & equipment and the Black Library is more of a campaign book. ?Both reminded me of Osprey, Squadron/Signals publications. ?Both look good from what I saw. ?But I'll have to save up for them, after I save up for E-A ...

I did try and use quotes to make myself clear that I was talking about the ForgeWorld Imperial Armour Book - containing pictures, background information and rules for all the Imperial Guard vehicles (and flyers)
We were also discussing the new Black Library Armageddon History book. Have you seen that one as well?

I have also seen this, and I am with dafrca on this one, in my opinion it is not worth buying unless you really love fluff... there is almost no gaming material (from what I could see) within it - ie no rules, scenarios, background stuff, much more pictures, maps, stories...

Quote (stormseer @ 29 2003 June,21:45) | Can you tell us a little about it from what you saw Jimbo...? | The concept is very similar to reference books on tanks you can buy now (about WWII and Moderns).
Each vehicle (and flyer) has it's own section. Each section contains photographs of the vehicle in action (some B&W, some colour) most are very photo-realistic; there are also side and top diagrams which show different camo variants; you also get background, fluff and rules. It is really really nicely put together and I have bought it and I don't even play IG at 40K scale!
Alas I could only pre-order and not take it home with me.

Dafrca and I were discussing the new Epic Hunter prototype that appeared on the new E-A web site last week and we both...
Think it looks like a Rhino with a garbage can up top.
Anyone else dissatisfied with it?
Anyone like the new Hunter?
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

I just expected something much better.
