Are people taking support squads? What effect is the 4000pt recommendation having on the activation war and formation sizes?

formation sizes and thus prices tend to rise wuth the addition of heavy transport and support options in general on your anchor tactical formation which most will take. that one can run about the 700 point mark, so activation count usually balances back out to about 10-11.

support squads have recently gone back up to 50 points from 25 which i am not sure is necessary, we will see.

Possible typo - Vindicator has walker ability?

Nope. Vindicators have always had walker. It's admittedly a terrible choice of name for the ability which is used to represent any number of traction or terrain negation equipment from legs, dozer blades, cutters, etc...

This is similar to how many units have teleport ability without actually being teleported.

To be honest I have no idea where to start with a legion list or which legion to go for in general!

I really want Space Wolves but HH haven't released any proper SW stuff yet. =<

I'm sure a beta list will be drawn up pretty soon after the book containing wolves is released- it won't hure to use the core legion list with your best guess intil then.

Correct me if I'm wrong as I am not a fluff efficianado but don't 40K Wolves resemble the 30K list as they 'declined' to change their pre-heresy great company structure? So you won't be far off following the core lists with the anticipation of some possible wolf specific units thrown in to give it a separate army character.

Pretty much they follow a legion type of structure in 40k, but with all of the wolfy mcwolfington crap thrown in. The 30k wolves have been described as the emperors Norse hitmen, so what that means ruleswise i am not sure but don't expect to see the santa claus chariot or anything in 30k, i think (fenrisian wolfpacks maybe).

I've noticed changes to the Space Marine army list in the last few months, but no real activity in the EpicAU forums. Does development happen somewhere else?

I think it might get discussed a bit in Facebook groups, but suggestions made on EpicAu or here do get noticed (and acted upon if they think it's a good idea ).

Mard or fattdex might be able to shed a little more light on the subject.
