Thanks Nuno. I had some leftover brown in my airbrush today (base coating my Steel Legion infantry), so I put some mud batched on the board to break it up a little.

Sweet board Comd Sims.

We found minigeddon useful for teaching the rules to. Its also fun to roll out when you have limited time for a normal game.
I also find it good for an initial painting target.

All things I'm after, thanks Mate.

I went with 2000 pts, no aircraft and one warengine per side in The learning games I've Done for beginners.

I'd like 2k points for starters. But it also like my minis painted before I get them on the table and I like the idea of a shorter game.

Well, what can i say… i love Minigeddon! :D

Working hosting my second Minigeddon tournament this year and our club enjoys it for what it is: a beer & pretzels version of Epic Armageddon that can be played light-hearted and quick (games range from 30min-1.5h).

Armies 'designed' for it are small (aka cheap to purchase) and quick to paint (usually 3-5 formations) hence it leaning towards a 'teaching tool' for new players.
Don't get me wrong, it's not THE teaching tool due to the simple fact that it doesn't use WE and aircraft. However, our beloved game can be quite heavy to take in for a newbie and that's where Minigeddon shines by focusing on the basics (movement, shooting, assault).

Here you'll find the participating lists of last years tournament:
