Ain't gonna happen, but I'll be happy if I'm wrong.

Hi!

Question is if it did ever happen what form will it take?

I smell a 10mm redo if it ever happens. No way they are put effort into something like this without invalidating the previous 6mm and trying to push people to buy 10mm.

Seems far too much to hope for.

However, I remember feeling the same way after GW royally screwed up their rollout of E40K. I thought that launch bombed so badly that GW would never try to sell Epic again…..

…. and then that e-mail arrived that asked if I'd like to do some play testing.

So I'm going to sit here in my bubble of Ludicrous Improbability Projection and keep my fingers crossed.

I'm just going to hope for retail support and magazines/web pages filled with old-style detailed battle reports, rather than pictures of pretty models for sale and articles that interview the box-cover artist.

Isn't it just a repeat of the previous rumour?

The odds of GW re-re-re-re-releasing Epic are probably smaller than the odds of winning the Lottery;

Hi!

A re-release of epic as it was, I don't think that will happen. In a "different" form they can manage, I could see that happening.

No, no. Totally different.

Last year the rumor was "next year". This year the rumor is "this year".

See? A change! ;D

(A pity they are from the same source, so seeing it multiple times does not add to credibility.)

I heard a rumour that GW is dropping everything but plastic kits very shortly.

As to Epic, I hope they keep away from it.

I wouldn't buy any 6mm Epic redo unless its Tau, Necrons, or a new race entirely. Established races? Have no need for. Now 10mm Epic. That might mean trouble for me. I still have mountains of Epic and Warmaster to paint and I'm already eyeing Dystopian Wars for a new universe and the other 6mm lines for new 40k universe races. But 10mm Epic... If some gamers are willing to shell out $100+ for one 40k model, imagine dropping $100 on 10mm Epic Warlord Titans.

The 'end of the year' line set off lights with me as this is traditionally the time when GW release a one-shot box, al la Space Hulk, Dread Fleet... and nothing last year, but you get my point.

The fact that it is touted to be IG, Marines and Orks would also point to a bare-bones re-release of the core EA rules set, with plastic sprues thrown in. Space Hulk 3rd ed was essentially first edition with a few tweaks, and I would imagine this being EA with similar adjustments, probably taking in the various updates since the first release of EA.

So, my prediction would be just that, a repackaged set of slightly altered EA rules, some infantry and tank sprues, in a box, as a one shot release, with a vague pointer to 'here are some other lists that could be used if we sold more minis' for other races.

Of course, this all assumes that this is true. Is the 'Tim' that is referenced 'Genestealer Tim'? If so, I put more credit in it.

However, I am treating this as entire speculation until I hear anything more, as I think GW would basically be crazy to do this after pulling the plug so openly relatively recently.

IF this ever happens, perhaps it will be HH themed. Then u need marines only.

10mm would look avesome too. But I have too many armies already. How many of us would switch to 10mill and start from zero?
