Why not just keep the focus on the WEs in the supplement and go into some detail on the first war for armageddon, rather than try to crowbar in a new army list that'll take a further couple of years to finish/argue over?

Or if you really want to do a new list, sticking with the Armageddon I theme, how about re-printing the NET ERC steel legion list and throw in Space wolves and add a "Banishment of Angron" scenario with some trial grey knight rules?

Yeah, the World Eater list will be released as it's own supplement. Close to 12 months of work needs to be shown, otherwise it will be yet another project that 'could have been' and wasn't   :(

Talk about a loss of freedom. I think I would rather enjoy free ideas than confront everyone's ire   :)

I would say that there are only a couple of approaches possible, given that I think FB is trying to get the WE part done in the near future.

1. WE's all by themselves
2. WE's vs. historical opponent
3. WE's vs. someone else

Obviously, #1 is the easiest to pursue at this point.

#2 has a lot going for it from a hobby perspective, but in reality, there aren't any historical opponent lists that are at the same stage of testing and modeling as the WE's. That means a delay, which could be significant given that support for the other army will need to be generated. I wouldn't do Blood Angels for the same reasons as GlynB stated. Space Wolves are a possibility, but they need more testing and an equivalent modeling effort.

#3, of the options here, only the Black Templars "seems" to me to be at a similar stage in development and modeling. Black vs. Red, Righteous Zeal vs. Frenzy could make for an interesting match up.

So, if I were going to vote, I'd say give BTs vs. WE's some thought, otherwise, run with #1.

So you admit yours are a weak Slaaneshi rock band?

I'm not the one using pink dice....

Seriously though, I'm still very open to combining both lists (separate periodsinto the one supplement if you're interested. You'd only have half the work to do then.

Just an idea anyway.

Salamanders are nearly finished too.

Interesting. Close Combat engagement oriented versus shorter ranged FF engagement oriented (correct?)

Yeah, why not the Salamanders? I'm not sure how well tested they are, but at least they have a list that has got some work put into it. And they would make nice opponents for the World Eaters, I think. The Fires of Hell vs. the Fires of Retribution, Red vs. Green color theme, Blitzkrieg vs. Stubborn Defence.

It would be an opportunity to develop a rather distinct chapter without having to start from scratch and launch it together with a really cool chaos opponent... What say ye folks?

These are all interesting ideas.

Ultimately it would take the Champion for the other list to also get involved as I am not doing such a thing alone. They would have to be dedicated and keep to a time schedule (no matter how lax it is). So although the ideas are there, they need commitment, and alot of men are afraid of commitment

Both people would alsdo have to agree on the others' list as well.

It is always a case that alot of people can make alot of noise, yet when it comes to the crunch, you find yourself alone. Hence my reluctance to fully commit at this time without a fully enthused partner to help out. I am allergic to being burned I guess..
