That should definately be an errata rather than an FAQ imho, as it definitely changes the written rule rather than clarifying it.

Actually not so clearcut since the rules say you get -1 to hit from ARMOURED vechiles and light vechiles specifically refer them to be UNarmoured.

But LVs say they count as AVs in all other cases other than being hit by AP fire. That means where you read "armoured vehicles" you should also read "light vehicles". The RAW is honestly very clear, though of course the FAQ is more sensible.

Yes. But RAW also says -1 to hit is by armoured vechiles.

As I said RAW states both things and therefore clarification is needed which one is intended. Which luckily has already been given.

easiest would be to follow the real world - you don't use vehicles for cover
armoured or not
