I won't be able to make it as I'm supporting a mates gig unfortunately - but I'll be there next week :D.

With the other guys coming along, we're on track for at least 8 or 9 Epic players turning up tomorrow.

If tomorrow goes well, I'll invite even more for the following week. :))

I don't think you were around then Ben but shortly after the new version was released and ferver was at its height you would get more Epic players there than at a tournament (that was in a previous location - the shrouded in darkness sports bar back room). Actually people used to play 40k back then as well. Wonder what happened to them?

Nah I only turned up at the old sports bar after Swordwind had been released.

I prefer The Cock as at least you can see the creepy locals! :))

Ten gamers turned up to play Epic in the end, and much fun was had. Five concurrent Epic games is the most I've seen outside of a tournament.

Personally I played against Jonluke's Titan Legion army, which I beat 2-0 with my Space Marines (using a Land Raider at 75pts, a Terminator formation at 350pts, and a Warhound Titan at 275pts, meaning that the list would have been 25pts cheaper under the standard rules).

No pictures because I am lazy, maybe next week.

I was hoping to get a game in with or against Ryan's Tau this week, what with all the kerfuffle about them lately.

Next week?

I'm pretty pissed actually.

Let's be honest, my list proposal won't gain any traction and the ERC Tau list will no doubt return to the endless cycles of balancing and re-balancing... but it's fun to play for a week or two.

Why do Tau use the same "core: support" organisation as Imperial armies is beyond me!

Because Tau armies are meant to have Fire Warriors and Crisis Suits at their core, just as Siegemaster armies are meant to have infantry at their core, or Tyranid armies are meant to have Synapse creatures at their core.

Using the 1:2 core/support ratio is just a very good balancing mechanism, and isn't nessesarily a feature of Imperial armies.

Unfortunately I can no longer make a legal Tau army with my collection due to the HH move from core to support. Like any normal collector who just liked the models I went for basically 1 of each formation which made a nice 3k army with some variety. I'm pretty pissed actually. Why do Tau use the same "core: support" organisation as Imperial armies is beyond me! It just makes them look and play very "Guardy"! Grrrr

Anyway! Any other non-Britconers fancy a game?

i'm going to be coming down and i'll be bring my marines and eldar with me so if you want a game i'd be up for it :)

As discussed over in my silly Tau thread, 1:3 could well represent the Tau's vaunted flexibility.
