Ha! That was fast!   8v)

Yes, bigred of BoLS fame has been kind enough to allow me to submit posts about E:A, and thus far he seems to be digging 'em.

My goal is to increase the profile of the game, and even try to attract new players, in an effort to make E:A more appealing to GW/SG and Forge World.

Lofty goals, for sure, but if you don't try and all that.  :)

So what do you guys think? I have scope with the BoLS guys for on-going articles, so I'm open to suggestions. Hit me with your ideas and what you would like to see written about the game and the community.

I think some batreps showing nicely painted armies clashing would be good.

Awsome. Since there's no epic in White Dwarf, regular articles in what are probably the second most popular 40k magazines, Firebase and BoLS should definitely keep epic's profile up. Really, all it takes is a bit of promotion!

That's my thinking as well.  :)

My plan is to do a series of articles that start by describing the game and its core mechanics, and then lead into community events and presenting miniatures projects.

If even a small percentage of the BoLS readership gives E:A a go and buys some GW or FW minis, I don't think I'm kidding myself that this could make an impact on whether or not we see renewed support for the game at GW HQ.

Maybe I should change my handle to "The Optimist"...?  ;)

I don't think we'll ever see significant support from GW again. That would require an equally significant political change it GW or an equally significant increase in sales (read MASSIVE, OUT-Of-SIGHT).

Never-the-less, work such as you are doing will help to ensure epic is not dropped and that, maybe, hopefully we'll see the occasional release from GW and FW.

I think that the bigger outcome of such efforts as yours is to increase the player base. So long as GW at least keep manufacturing the current catalogue, I don't suppose the community is too arsed if they don't provide further material, so long as Epic's profile is mainted/boosted somehow

New releases are good, but I think people value a thriving community and lot's of people to play more. The promotion of constant new releases is how GW do it for 40K (reducing WD into little more than a big advert) but it doesn't have to be that way.

I'm happy anytime I see my favorite game system being promoted!
