If it is of any comfort to you... I have made a few armylists in the past.

-Exodite armylist for Net Epic -> No feedback
-Some new marine chapters -> No feedback
-Squat list for E:A -> was distributed to several people, only one gave feedback.

About your I:A I must plead quilty as charged.  :(  My only defense is that for some reason I've recently been so mentally exhausted that I prefer to spend my free time doing something which does not require any higher brain functions. Like reading the new 40k rules, for example...  }:)

Hi!

This is a topic I feel qualified to give an opinion on, since after all I have been doing this for more than 7 years.

Feedback for anything "home grown" on the net is sporadic at best. As Mojarn has mentioned he did some stuff and no feedback. This shouldn't be construed as "disinterest" though. Since people do download the stuff, modify it and use it. They just tell you about it.

Look at my Heresy rules, it has a following, several books are in the top ten downloads of the epicentre. Now how many times you think I have gotten direct feedback over the 5 years of Heresy's exsistance?

...Perhaps twice...

Yet, I know people download and play it, they just keep to themselves.

I realize there is a large amount of satisfaction in getting feedback or a simple "hey that's great", but in the end you do a project becuase of your own enjoyment. If other enjoy it too, then thats a bonus.

Yep, having run a net newletter for Shadowrun for many years, seeing my stuff show up in other peoples games, and having received a total of two emails back taught me the same thing.  :D

Thanks for wording it better then I did!

Okay. Seems that the compilation as it stands is just too huge for most of the folk. What if I made several separate lists for the purposes of testing and then we'd try to get them done one at a time? Could work, y'know...

Sounds like a good idea to me. If people want a compilation they can allways clip the pages together. Easy accessibility is allways a good thing. :;):

Cheers! :)

I am fairly new at this but I downloaded it all. Killed my print cartrige but really wanted it.

I do not see why the whole thing isn't adopted as official. You put a lot of work into it.

It should be used as at least the basis of all the SM lists. I don't know why people have not jumped on it.

I have been trying to get someone to get interested in "Space Wolves" but the few I see want to start from scratch. I have been play testing the "wolves" a lot lately and getting killed! I have always been unlucky with dice. The last few games over 50% of my rolls have been "1's" and 1% "6". Does that give you any idea of how the two games went. LOL :{ ?:oo

I am trying to work with "Lion_in_the _Stars on other site.
Any suggestions or ideas? Space Wolves is my favorite but working on several "Chapters"

WM Nice, the mini-lists are one thing, but people will still be able to get the EIA in the big single package.

Gary/Wolf, if you are willing to have a try and help in making it better, then why not. Also it sure will have a chance of impacting the official lists when they come out, and when Douglas releases the next issue of Incoming, at least part of EIA will be there as well.

Would love to be involved and try to help. :D
Am in the middle of 3rd game in the last few days. SW vs UM
same list (which I am not sure about ). After getting killed on the first two games I am playing the UM this time. I wil play same list once more after this just to see what happens.

I am thinking of playing all test games vs Ultra Marines for now and at 2000 points. What do you think? The UM's are official and also SMs so it should show if it is balanced or not.
Open for ideas. The smaller cost lists would make for faster and MORE games for comparison.

Any ideas or suggestions would be welcome.
got to go... being called bask to finish game.

Just finished the game. Got slautered again using the other side. :(
In 3 games I have set up great crossfires... set up for heavy ?"one- two punches". Can't seem to get a hit and if I do he "saves".... He can't miss and I couldn't make a save if it was 1+!:O :p :(

I am going to have Tim roll dice for both sides from now on. Hard to get any real feel with those kind of rolls.

Well, Jervis wrote once that minimum fair army size is 2000 pts, but I think it could be decreased down to 1000 - 1500 if need is.

If you are willing to actually playtest any of the lists, it will be a perfect aid in getting them correct.

 I like to field a company plus support. This means 1500-2000 points is good 1000 points would be a minimum.
Actually, now that I think about it, 1000 would be good for starting play test.

Would I be correct it saying...
The units are going to be basicly Space Marines so if all of my test games are vs Ultra Marines and we get it ballanced...
the results should be accurate.

Did you see my post on the other site?
I really would like to help this get going. Do to you think this is a more aproprate site to work on? It would be nice to try to work with everyone and try to work as a team but there is some difference in the way to go.

My personal opinion is look at the big picture first. What do we want the army to be? Then develop the units and point values. You have IMHO everything already. I may be dreaming but using youi "index" ?we could move through each chapter fairly quickly.

At present I have time to play test from one to three times a day five days a week. Does anyone have an easy, accurate way of recording a battle report? Not just a quick summary but something that can be analyzed? This would make the results available to anyone to check.

New Subject: How do you make a web page? Can you do it without buying anything? I happen to be a ?bit short of cash at the moment.

Both sites are good. Your choice.

It took a while to get it right - the work began around, IIRC, a year ago (or in fact more)

Well, I think that you could just have a notepad and a ballpen and note down the more important events as they go. A very generic one, but will work well.
Or you could just have a table printed and note down the actions of each detachment during a turn and their results, I heard this works good too.

What do you need is a host (lots of free hosts around, do a little search) and time. You can code everything in the Notepad, and need only basic graphic programs.
