As if the nay-sayers needed more fuel for their fires, Jervis posted this on the playtest forum. GW US haven't set the release date for Epic yet. This is mainly my fault - I've been so busy doing the rules I haven't had the free time to speak to them about their release plans for the game. I think it is unlikely that Epic will be 'officialy' released in the US until the summer. However we should be able to sort something out that will allow people 'in the know' to order stuff from GWUS Mail Order from February. I'll let you know more about this as soon as I know more myself. Also, news for the Aussies: Grant is back from his trip back home to Oz, and has told me that the GW Australia team will shortly get in touch with me with a plan for the specialist games range that 'will make me happy'. He wouldn't go into details, but I will let you know what they are as soon as I have them. Before people get too exicted, I should say that I *don't* think this means that the range will be sold in stores in Australia and NZ, but I do think that they guys should have come up with a system that it makes it easier to get hold of specialist games product from Mail Order without having to pay too much for shipping. (?) ...  And I guess, this fits into the comment I made on another thread here, where I said, I'd stand-by for the next change or release of E-A ... whichever comes first ... It appears we saw which came first ... Wow.  I have to say this sounds bad. Epic will go on sale at the end of January, in Europe at least. The rules will be sold as a rulebook on their own, supported by boxed sets and blister packs of miniatures (i.e. the same way that Warmaster works). A small selection of product *may* be available in stores, but the bulk of the range will be available only through mail order. We'll be releasing three armies at first (Orks, Marines and Guard). The release will be staggered over three months, but the first month release will include all you need to field a playable army. We'll release the Eldar at the end of 2004, and then bring out roughly one army a year after that for Tyranids, Chaos, Necrons and Tau. Apart from new races, we'll also be adding new models to the existing armies on a regular basis. The only way to salvage the situation would be to release IMMEDIATELY after the games release in the summer everything that has been released since February in the UK to compensate for the lag. IF they hold to a delayed release in the US compounding the late release, that is BAD for the games appeal. Not very good news....
