Today the person behind started to work on an upgrade. It does some rescaling (from 2,4pixels per mm to 2pixels per mm) and some extra features. Also the intention is to separate armies to extra files so adding them wouldn't require to redoing the entire epic module.

Guess I'll just need to be bit of patient ;-) The intention is certainly good. Such modular design is positively life saver on things like that and should make future additions come lot faster.

Now I need to get some playing with this(first I might want to reread rules couple of times over though seeing as how it's 3.5 years since I have had chance to play epic...).

Its a shame it isn't easy to make battlefields in an image program and upload them :(

Myself I'm satisfied if it includes wide variety of terrain pieces. I'm not fond of pre-generated terrains anyway and if I want those I can just save the game anyway.

Albeit most of my Vassal experience comes from ACTA which is obviously less terrain intense :D

I'm open for games if anyone's interested? I'm in Pennsylvania, so EST for me. Can only play until ~9-10pm as I only have internet at work (and even that would involve a takeaway pizza, yay!)

It's still up, it will be up until the 31st.   I think it will probably reemerge under a different name -- it's not clear how much of the relevant IP Games Workshop can actually claim.

(Especially if they're not still fighting with the Tolkien estate for the concept of Orcs.)

Incidentally, VASSAL40K is to be imminently shut down due to GW Legal. I don't know whether Epic is likely to suffer the same fate, and I don't know if you've already downloaded the modules whether you actually won't be able to play anymore with the units already provided, but it looks like any further development is unlikely.

In any case, if you don't have VASSAL 40K or Epic40K then download them now!

Edit: Or you could go to the whole thread dedicated to this subject. Doh!
