With the soon to return GW specialist games range being an actual thing (yay), I'm wondering just how this will effect epic A play in the future. For example, a rumour was they might change the scale to 10mm.

I think they would look great in 10mm however what to do with all the 6mm collections people have? Im just getting back into the game and was going to bolster my armies but i think ill wait until this resolves.

What do you think?

If it's not 6mm it's not EPIC.

My view of course.

Yep, in their return to Epic GW will need to try and get the old players back on board, otherwise they'll struggle to pick up the 40k players who already have the bigger toys that they use in their Apoc games.

By changing the scale, it will do nothing but alienate the old playerbase and doom it to mediocrity from the outset.

I think its far from certain that Epic will be re-released or that it will happen in the next couple of years

Ive got a feeling it'll be a standalone boxed game ala Adeptus Titanicus and if that doesnt sink they'll probably expand from there

Epic should change scale, but only to 3mm.

I prefer 4,7 to be honest.

Wasn't there a rumour on bells a week ago that said an Adeptus Titanicus game was in the pipeline?

BoLS ran this article not long ago, http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2016/01/106395.html.

Excerpt:

    Specialist Games
Forge World is effectively being divided into three parts all overseen by Tony Cottarel in an Emperor Palpatine-esq way (in my mind at least). One section is led by Alan Bligh and will continue producing all the normal 40k, 30k and Age of Sigmar that we are used to. Second section is led by Andy Hoare and is focusing on the traditional specialist games that we would recognise from the past like Necromunda, Blood Bowl etc. The final section is going to focus on Lord of the Rings. Each section includes the manager and three developers.

In terms of models, there will be a core focus in plastic in the starting box sets that will be designed by the SG department and then manufactured by the main Studio. Blood Bowl is currently in development but mentions were made about Adeptus Titanicus coming back to its roots of a Titan vs Titan game set in the heresy and additional Necormunda gangs made in resin. All of this is still in very early days of development and chat. The new department opens officially on the 18th January.

That is a solid point! Looks like most folks want it to stay 6mm but are happy to look any any new rules.

I hope they dont change the rules much. I think the current system is the best large scale rule set i am aware of. Admitidly ive been out of the loop and have not tried planetfall or dropzone commander.

Looks like there's lots of discussion about there about what people want from Specialist Games. Other than Blood Bowl, everything appears to just be a concept/pipe-dream at this point.

I'd have to agree ... And who knows if/when GW will re-re-re-release Epic ? Again ? :-\
