From a personal point of view I could care less if GW relaunch it. I have just about finished all of the armies I have, and those armies I don't have I'm going to buy from other suppliers (well-known to us all here).

That said, I would welcome GW relaunching Epic as it would make it much easier to introduce a new generation of players to the game.

Firstly, I think that you mean 'couldnt care less'. I apologise, but while I am happy to let a lot of things go, this one in particular bugs the hell out of me. And, I am not alone.... ;)

I apologise profusely. Clearly I have assimilated more American culture than I would desire. Yanks... they're worse than the Borg (in a less grafting technology to your body-type way, but mark my words, that's coming)! At least I haven't yet adopted their annoying way of inexplicably starting every sentence with "So".

Hey, let's not paint all Americans with broad brush strokes! People who say, "could care less" bug the hell out of me, too. And don't even get me started about people who say, " I should have went".

Back on topic, I agree that having a new edition probably would make it easier to attract new players.

We all have our faults. I place equal blame on the English for the butchering and overuse of the word literally ;)

Give it ten years, could care less will become official, just like champing at the bit became chomping at the bit....

The rest of the rumors:

A New Direction for Specialist Games
Quote:
via Tim on Faeit 212
-Other Games will return
-All sets will be completely made of plastic
-Specialist Games is dead
-The Games will be Standalone Complete Sets with Expansion-Sets for additional Models or Armies.
-Terrain will be made of Plastic and/or Cardboard
- Epic and Gothic will become Great Crusade Expansions

And from today
Epic May Include Primarchs, Chaos Traitor Legions, and Ork Clans

-Expansion sets for Epic will cover Theme lists like Chaos Traitor Legions or Ork Klans.
-A possible Great Crusade Expansion for Epic may contain the Primarchs and other coll stuff
-All former SGs will return as Complette Sets

And here are my two cents.
if this happens, it think the boxed game approach is the most propable.
A boxed set like Space HUlk is a good push for sales, because you can offer it at a good deal. You have everything you need to play. Make Amryboxes as expansions if it really takes off.
Target audience would be all the new kids that never even heared about Epic and all the old kids that stopped playing epic but will buy it for nostalgia.
GW needs sales and fast. After the 20something% loss in sales they need a push before the end of thier fiscal year. Or something on the horinzon for the shareholders like the new 40k starter.
Boxed sets are cheaper than an Army realease and have higher customer potiential espacially if it is something "new" with nostalgia attached on.

Even if it's not as good as epic I'll jump on this. Hell I'll use it as an excuse to use my epic minis. I have four epic armies and haven't had a game in over a year. It's been extremely hard trying to recruit people over here, people aren't keen on investing in a dead game.

I'm a yank, and "could care less" has always driven me nuts. I remember being 10 years old and being driven up the wall when my teacher would say it.

But, come on, Brits - "innit" after everything, even when grammatically incorrect? Ugh. :) And "whilst"? Beginning sentences with "right" is your equivalent to us beginning our sentences with "so". You guys have your things as we have ours.

I agree that it's seriously unlikely that GW will resurrect Epic. As far as I can tell, they are hemorrhaging players (like me), and Epic would be a great way to bring some of them back into the fold. Which is why they won't do it. Because it makes sense. I am not saying that facetiously. I just haven't seen GW do anything that makes sense in the past few years, so I have to assume they will do the opposite of what seems intuitive.

OMG! WTF? PMSL! Is something else that annoys me, especially when people don't just post it on the net but actually say it!

Apologies to all of my friends across the Atlantic, clearly my generalisation was not aimed at the excellent and scholarly individuals on here, rather it was a comment on many of the shows and films that we see over here. "Innit" is a particularly egregious example of how bad we Brits can be...although as a Glaswegian, I can say with some pride that it is something we don't say up here. We "Weegies" don't murder the English language in a piecemeal fashion, we go the all the way!

Most of these rumours actually seem to be the results of some fan brainstorming rather than having any substance to them.

The worst part is I don't have a basement so I have to keep him in my crawlspace. it's so embarrasing.
