Marauders!

A couple of questions regarding the Marauder and its varients.

1) In the 'Counts As' section of the Epic Rulebook, the Marauder Destroyer has its Twin Heavy Bolters limited to a rear fire arc where the Standard Marauder does not, even though on both models the turret looks identical and is identically situated on the aircrafts frame. Although a completely different game, I note that AI has both Marauders firing their Twin Heavy Bolters in a 360 degree fire arc. Is the limiting of the Marauder Destroyers Twin Heavy Bolters to the rear fire arc a typo in the 'Counts As' column or is it simply a game balance decision ?

2) I was just wondering if anyone has put together some stats for the Marauder Colossus and/or the Marauder Vigilant. The former would need a considerable one-shot payload, perhaps 10BP with MW...maybe TK. The latter would probably need to confer some sort of command bonus whilst on the board, perhaps an initiative or strategy bonus. Anyway, if someone has put together something I'd enjoy seeing it if you care to share, thanks.

Noone really uses the counts-as stats in the back of the book; they're just used as a basis for development for varient lists.

The rear guns are actually assault cannon on the Destroyer.

The single bomb thing is the tallboy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tallboy_bomb or grand slam http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Slam_bomb 'earthquake' bomb? If so its an anti infrastructure weapon that uses shockwaves traveling through the ground.

Alternatively if its an air burst bomb its probably a MOAB http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GBU-43/B_M ... Blast_bomb (or the Russian FOAB http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Father_of_all_bombs) which is a development of bombs used for creating instant helicopter landing zones. They are used these days for morale effect asits akin to seeing a small nuke go off.

Thanks, it has those as well, but they're not what I am referring to.

Aye the Colossus bomb would be something like a WWII Blockbuster, large BP, dısrupt, one-shot.

Really? I would have thought something like 2bp, disrupt, one shot, but use the orbital template, since normal carpet bombardment did more damage to surface combatants. Oh and another special rule where bunkers are replaced with rubble :)

Well I'd go with 3BP just because 2BP is pretty lame on a one-shot weapon that lacks 'ignores cover', if using the big template.
