Hi!

How about a drab brown or grey?

It's pretty low key and those would blend in with the rotten woods and broken buildings of the slums.

They already have an illustration of the Jopallis on the GW Armageddon web site.

They wear the green and white marsh ambush pattern.

I thought about posting the image here, but it's GW and I don't want their IP people to track us down and slay the site.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

You could post the URL though  :;):

Bottom Line, in my mind, tactical colors is the way to go ... as Primarch suggested. But you all have heard my feelings about Disneyland colors for military units !

Oh, very cool fluff, especially the little anecdote about the basilisk.

The Jopalli's seem to be very much about practicality, so I could imagine them wearing just about anything as long as it lets them blend in better. They seem very mercenary, so I could see them, for example, buying or scavenging equipment and uniforms to better blend in. In fact, the fluff specifically mentions them infiltrating militia forces, so I can imagine certain regiments would purchase and wear local HiveWear?. I agree with Primarch, drab browns and grey.

As for morale, they seem to have as much reason to fight as any other, and certainly a lot of combat experience.

As an aside, I think one thing to consider about the whole morale issue is that there is an upper limit: troops who will fight to the death. And while I'd generally bet on the well-trained troops, religious fanatics and those with immense personal stake can reach that threshold without brainwashing ala space marines.

"Brainwashing", obviously, will effect motivation.

However, "brainwashed" troops, Japanese Banzai and Kamikazis, moslem fanatics, etc., in the big picture may achieve a tactical victory but in long run contribute to strategic failure.

However, history is full of examples on both ends of the spectrum. But in a Sci-fi wargame it presents an interesting scenario...

Has anyone else built PDF or Hive Gangers infantry?

I have three companies of Jopallis built now and hope to get their support weapons built next.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Does anyone know if the newer E-A PDF / Siege units have Mole Mortars?

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

I doubt it; in the current fluff GW has dumped most of the high-tech weapons of the Guard (jump packs, land speeders, etc.). :{

Well, I finally got around to it...

I started working on the Jopalli support weapons.

So far, I have six Thud Guns and six mortars on the work bench. I decided to base them on 20x30mm bases rather than the Warmaster standard of 20x40mm. I like the way they fit better.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Primarch,

You can see some photos when I get access to a camera again.  :D

Hi!

Take your time, Maksim. The good lord knows that even when one has a camera, getting free time is a feat in and of itself.

Primarch.

As of last night I officially secured a venue.  I know this isa widely geographically diverse group, but I thought I'd post it here just in case.  This is a copy of the post I put in the Event Announcements thread on the SG board.
==============

For those of you in commuting distance of Nashville, Tennessee Nashcon '05 will be held Memorial Day weekend, May 27-29.

Nashcon is sponsored by HMGS (Historical Miniature Game Society), a national gaming organization here in the US. Traditionally, Nashcon has been almost entirely historical games. While it will still be dominated by historicals, they are branching out into fantasy and scifi.

They have agreed to allow us to run an Epic Tournament on that Saturday. It will be RTT structure, with a minimum of 3 rounds. I will post more details as we get them hashed out.

The event is $18 for HMGS members, $23 for non-members through pre-registration, $20/$25 at the door. Convention Info, Registration Form, and a preliminary game schedule are available at:

http://www.hmgs-midsouth.org/convention ... ashcon2004

Also, GJLane and some of the crew from Memphis will be putting on an Epic Demo at some point during the weekend.

There is a small chance that we may pull off an official RTT event and gain the official GW support therby (trophies, prizes, advertisement in White Dwarf, etc.), but we will need 12 solid commitments and a few more for extras before we can qualify. Mostly, I'd really like to have the free ad in WD but that takes a 2 month advance notice. Anyone who can commit at this point will be much appreciated.

Those of you who are interested, please email me at neal.e.hunt@vanderbilt.edu and I will put you on the email list. If you can confirm at this point, so much the better.
