Hi Everyone,
The CONQUEST game set in Golden Gate Park was a hug success. I planned for a maximum of eight players and got nine and almost had twelve! (A few guys AND **GIRLS** decided to team up, become spectators or move on... )
I had two Nid sides, three SM sides, three Eldar sides and an IG side. Everyone was supportive of each other, cheering and having a great time! I will post the mission briefing later.
The players did discover the lost artifact and it passed back and forth between Nid and SM hands. The Eldar might have recovered the artifact had we played longer.
We played roughly three turns that took about an hour each. We ended early and I learned a lot how to run a good E-A game at a convention. I also learned that I don't know the E-A rules all that well despite a TON of playtesting and played games! Thanks to Chern for being my back-up!
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

Short blurb: Imperial Astropaths have discovered a mysterious warp anomaly in San Francisco?s Golden Gate Park and believe that an ancient artifact of great power is located in the park. Alien forces are already in the park and are searching for the artifact. Imperial forces have been dispatched to stop the aliens.
Mission briefing: A rogue Inquisitor named Peter ?The Unknown Primarch? Ramos has defied the Emperor and escaped the Eclesiarchy Palace with an artifact of great power code named ?The Loknar.? Imperial agents pursued him inflicting grievous wound upon him as far as Golden Gate Park in New San Francisco on Terra. Some kind of great warp anomaly is now occurring within the Park and Imperial Astropaths and Psykers of great power can?t seem to penetrate some sort of Astral white noise surrounding the park. It is known that the traitor, Ramos, understands the ways of the Eldar Warp Gates and it is believed that he is trying to contact those Alien scum to transfer the artifact into their nefarious hands.
Expected Intelligence: Traces of Tyranid psychic residue have now tainted the area around the park. Imperial Xenopaths believe that the Hive Mind greatly desires the ?Loknar? and that the artifact would greatly add to her power. Incredibly well-hidden Eldar warp gates have also been detected although Imperial forces haven?t been able to pinpoint their exact locations yet. Some imperial Eldar Xeno specialists believe that Eldar Farseers desire to hide the ?Loknar? away from Imperial forces. The Xeno scum known as the Necrons are also believed to covet the artifact and Adeptus Mechanicus agents are desperately searching for them. Several Imperial Guard Planetary Defence Force (PDF) units are believed to have sold out to the warp powers and may attack Imperial forces. Grey Knights have been summoned to deal with them. Worst of all, peace protesters, long monitored by the Imperial Police are believed to be camping out in the park in illegal communes. Small shanty villages have been erected and ?free love? is believed to be practiced in the park. The most- wanted protester leaders are ?Slick Willy? and ?Susie Saranwrapdon.?

If any players sends me pics then I will share!

I'll see about photos for the nest game.
It looks like Chuck will be hosting a game in my neck of the woods on October 3rd, 2004.

Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak. | Sounds good. I look forward to seeing what you get to do.
By the way, how about some pictures of the terrain even though it is an "after action" shot?
I know I would like to see what you did.

Hi Dafrca,
Yes, I will photograph my new terrain and find a way to send it to the boards.

Well done for successfully running a big participation game Maksim! It can be an exhausting process, but a great contribution to the hobby if you can make the time for it.

Hello to you all,
I'm slowly expanding my Blood Ravens force and I'd like to include some tanks! I've got a epic40k era blister of razorbacks and one with predators. I've also got 2 spare rhino's and some bits, so I want to build a total of 4 predators and 4 razorbacks.
I've got the feeling that I get most bang for my buck by putting AT weapons on all tanks, because my marines already have AP power and the AT weapons also have more range.
So, what are your experiences?
Greetings,
Gamgee

I've found that my Preds ethier fight spectacularly (Killing a Eldar Titan [The small one] in 2 turns w/ no losses) or Die usefully by drawing the fire of an opponent who fears them out of porportion. The AT Preds are a great way to make a enemy Mechanized formation have to walk after turn one, so I'd say they are the better choice, but they wont stand up to most of the other races Armor formations.
As for Razorbacks, they are awesome, but dont waste to much brainpower thinking about their use, just add them to Tac/Dev dets w/ Rhinos for extra shots and to soak up more BM's Both types are usefull, with a slight edge to the AT due to the range.
I use 1 AP Razorback with each of my 2 Tac Dets, and 2 AT Razorbacks with my Devastator Det for a nice anti-tank unit.:;):

I too like AT preds. Well I don't like, I just get killed by them. Zzaps and Soopa Guns will really give SM tanks a hard time, but the AT preds can give back. 12 AT shots, 4 at +4.. That's better than a warhound...
The AP ones are just as good, if you know you are going to fight troop heavy armies.. but how often do you really know?
