I've heard that the Baneblade will be sold, at least in the US, at a sale price of 3 for about the price of 2.5.

I too have read something like that. If a Baneblade is $95, then the 3 pack might be $240.

Would it be profitable for 3 of us to team up and save the $15 per 'blade? No. Shipping costs would negate much of the savings.

Somemore news:

- There are two Baneblades. The gernal one and the other with the different turret gun (the one with the forward positioned sponsons).
The Baneblade Battlecannon has Range 72" S8 Ap3 and a 10" blast template
The one with the other turredgun is some kind of mega Demolisher with range 48" and a 9" blast template.
- there is a Banbelade as Special Character (Commissar Yarriks Banerblade is a covnersionnot a kit on its own)
- The Baneblade will cost 90Euro
- no FOC for Apocalypse (armycomposition as you wish. aliies are possible)
- standard WH40k rules are full yused
- Warenginerules form FW are not used
- There are pictures and rules for Stompa and Gargands
- Rules for Warhound included and Warlord also but only a drawn picture of it. It is based on the first metal Warlord model(MK2) not the current MK3 one.
- Brass Scorpion is a conversion. There willbe no official boxed set

True, but if you're planning on buying 3 anyway (and I do), it will be savings.

Smallcorrection:

the 2nd version of the baneblade has a mega demolisher cannon called helstorm or hel-something (I forget). it has a range of 36" Str 10 AP 1 and 10" template with no cover save.

speaking of the warlord titan: is has 9 structure points and 6 shields. WS 2 BS 4 and 3 Attacks. the two top sided guns have a minimum range of 24". it can be armed CC weapons which give it another 3 attacks but can only be used against other titans or super heavy vehicles. they hav Str D if recall correctly.

oh yeah and the warhound titan only reaches its knees....

More stuff:

the warhound still has 3 structure points. the 6D6 is for a crit plasma reactor meltdown and the warlord titan has the same rule.

I'm pretty sure this (Macro) is supposed to be Destroyer which is D which is a Titan killer weapon. +1 on damage table roles. D weapons also have auto wound and only invulnerable save work against them. cover saves don't.

vortex weapons destroy terrain. ...and everything else it touches...

another thing I recall: a formation of basilisks can shoot a target shot they call is something special I forget). one basilisk shoots first with this range shot and the rest can elect to hit automatically in the center of that shot or they can choose to shoot another range shot.

this is true there is a rule for the endless swarm that your enemy can run out of ammo though it is only for that turn of shooting. if a unit rolls 5 ot more 6'es to hit, no hits are resolved.

let me see. a few more things i recall:

book is 200 pages.
terminus land raider is not included which I think is a good sign, since this must mean that the support for this expansion is gonna be good. we have already seen a picture of it beside a datasheet elsewhere.

lots of stratagems to choose from. 3 different kinds.

nice and fun art work and very nice conversions and terrain features.

spacemarine master conclave includes company masters of 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 10th company each with their own stratagem special rule.

stompas have WS 4 BS 2. power fields only work against shooting from further than 12" away. they have AV 12.

I might recall some more later.. enjoy. hope most of this hasn't been written already. else I can confirm it here

That's not fair on poor old FW :(

WHat's worrying me is this - our local GW agent gets monthly shipments, and these usually include stuff which GW wants them to stock. Now in a place as small as here, what will they do with 6 or 12 boxes of 10 Leman Russes? I really hope I'm wrong on this one, because otherwise said local store wil be in trouble....  :(

Who the heck have gaming tables large enough to play a sensible battle???

This is the reason you start only 6-12" apart instead of 24" :D

Start 6"-12" apart = CHARGE! Does the game have a shooting phase at all?   :glare:

The idea is rather stupid but at least I'll get a plastic baneblade. Although at 90? it should be pretty darn good model...

No, they are planning on opening a new business of "official mini storage" and charging exorbitant prices for it. If you don't store your minis officially you can't play at GW stores.

It does seem virtually no effort has gone into Apocalypse apart from the Baneblade.
Nice for the Guard, nice converted Baneblade for Orks, awful coverted Baneblade for Chaos.

Then the only other official model is the beyond awful LR Terminus

I'm surprised there aren't baneblade conversions for necron, tau and eldar

Mojarn, don't give them any hairbrained ideas! GW might take you seriously.  :D

Preposterous?!?!?  Are you kidding?  From a business and marketing sense it is a great idea.  Just think:

1) GW is targetting teenagers with WH40K.  What do young players want to do with a game they love?  Play bigger games.  And once they have done that?  Play even bigger games!  The only thing holding them back, aside from resources, is rules.

2) Privateer Press with Warmachine and Hordes have grabbed a big chunk of the 25-30mm market that GW once thought they had a lock on.  (Confrontation and Infinity only add on to GW's problems.)  If you have never played Warmachine/Hordes they are similar in detail of combat & abilities to what WH40K 2nd ed. was, only more fun.  For GW to compete they would have to either create a more detailed version of WH40K (not likely) or differentiate WH40K from Warmachine/Hordes, such as being the way to play massive battles.  They are going to fight "heavy metal gaming" with "tons of plastic!"

3) GW has invested a lot of money into molds for plastic injection molding of their miniatures.  Assuming that they have made them out of stainless steel (they would be stupid not to) those molds will probably last longer than what their business plan calls for the designs to last.  This means that they are not getting all of their tooling costs paid back and not getting the economies of scale that could be achieved with this style of tooling.  The best way to do this would be increase production via more sales or with packaging that requires more units per package.  Like WH40K: Apocalypse.

4) GW is targetting teenagers with WH40K.  What do young players want to do with a game they love?  Modify things!  Land Raider Terminus, Brass Scorpion, and the included VDR fit right into that, helping to boost bit orders where I'm sure that GW makes good money per unit sold.  The VDR rules should help to boost Forge World (a GW owned company, if I am not mistaken) sales of the various conversion kits they make.  If Forge World were willing they could make even more money by doing a bit service for their new tanks.

Mark my words: "If GW does well with WH40K Apacolypse you can count on them getting rid of Warmaster like they are getting rid of Epic to make a mass combat system for Warhammer Fantasy."
