I no longer play with the Ulthwe list because I feel that the SR5 along with the Farseer Council and the Eldar's basic set of rules puts it over the top. SR5 was the main attraction for me playing the list to begin with (to offset SM list and it's SR). I find, however that that SR5 along with the tr...

Thats an interesting counter-point, Nealhunt, because I've often found that the key to an opponent taking out my army has revolved around them keeping the pressure on me. It's a tactic that is often used with the more hordy armies (Nids, Imps, Orks, even chaos at times): Hedge me in, get within 30cm...

Whoops. Ok. Here's the rub then. Does that mean a person can effectively 'block' the Avatar from coming by making sure they've got the Farseer inside of ZOC? The thing with Teleporters is that they can always come on the board because there is no way a person can block the 'entry point'... Just play...

Well since the water is warm: I've been the exclusive eldar player for more than a year now in my area: Ottawa, Canada. We have a regular group of almost 20 players I'd say so I think it's safe to say it's one of the largest test-bases for variations of armies. When I first started giving demo games...

Well, I assumed that it was summoned like a demon since the description used the word summon and the statline did not have "Teleporter" trait assigned to it. Additionally, in the tournament army list they didn't use teleport anywhere in the the description of bringing the Avatar on the board. But I ...

Hi Folks, I had an odd thing happen the other day. A nid player parked his Lictors in such a way that the Farseer couldn't summon the Avatar without having it be within the Lictors' 10cm zone of control. I know that it says that teleporters cannot land in an opponent's zone of control, however what ...

Hi Guys, Weird thing happened with me and my friend the other day and I wanted to see what the official ruling was on this sort of thing: I had several formations more or less int he middle of hte board, safely in terrain, occupying around a foot and a half line. There were 4 formations total, the b...

I use army issue ammo boxes for the C-9 amo. Fits about 3,000pts regularly.
I just took the red foam, cut a tray and a half into strips 2 slots deep by 4 long, fit almost perfectly.

Technically WE's ranges are measured from the weapon of the firing model to the base of the target model.

THanks for your input guys. With the new 4.2 list out now and some calculation errors in the list (two formations being BTS) I feel that there is a good deal of work to be done before I have something that would be a viable list. Thank you all for taking the time to look at this draft.

I actually have a Manta on the way from a bid I won. However, I felt that an 850pt formation is a touch too high for a 3000pt list.

I too like the idea of being able to have the SC out of his battlesuit and in a WE. Tactica raises a good point of bucking the trend of having 1 SC reroll in an army. Jervis, I think, would disapprove of it. Additionally, adding another reroll a turn would essentially inflate the Tau's perceived str...

If I may add my 2c worth I agree that while I like the idea of an armored company of HHs I wonder if it is very Tau-ish. I always tend to think of them as medium to smaller sized formations that will stalk something (much like Eldar) with patience and then deliver a swift and decisive strike when th...
