Because I guess I'm a masochist, I feel like getting a Reaver titan.  For some reason, I'm always tempted to use units that are considered rubbish  :p

Anyway, which models do people prefer?  I do think the old Reaver is something of a classic but I like the Forgeworld one too, plus it would fit better with the other titans.

That explains why I chose a Reaver to accompany my new SM force, then...  :p

I was thinking of teaming it up with some Land Raiders too

The FW Reavers are nice, but I prefer the original Reavers.

The SG reaver is a classic. FW's version doesn't do much for me :;):

Oh, it?s something along the lines of actually gaining the benefit of the reinforced armour because TK weapons will have to choose between the Reaver or the Land Raiders, and of course the Reaver will be the BTS goal. ?Not exactly anything revolutionary.

EDIT - that was a reply to vanvlak of course.

It depends on your other titans I suppose.

If you have the current SG Lucius style Warlord & FW Lucius Warhounds, the FW Reaver is a perfect match.

If you have the more curvy Mars style Warlord & Warhounds, then the SG Mars style Reaver is an obvious choice really.

Personally, I've got both. :D

I prefer the Lucius style, overall.

I'm inlined to agree with all of that.

I much prefer the original SG Reaver. The FW one really doesn't do anything for me, if I'm honest. It's definitely not up to the standard of the Warhounds.
That said, I understand the problem with the old one not matching the current Warlord. I've solved this problem by sculpting my own updated Reaver, which I'm itching to show off, but unfortunately it's my entry for the SG competition.
After I've lost, (I'm from the North, we don't do optimism) I'll post some piccies here.

But if you aren't into sculpting / converting, stick with the original SG classic Reaver. Jes Goodwin at his best!
Regards,
Reaver

Even if you win, some pictures here would be nice.  :;):

I'm with Dwarf Supreme on this one. It is not that I dislike the FW one, just it is not my favorite. I love the older one better.

I'd agree and add that the FW Reaver goes better with the newer Warlord.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the Reaver in a SM force if you are using the updated weapon stats.  It's quite a nice bit of AT firepower that the SM are often lacking.

Ah yes, well, I'm not

It does allow me to take a Warhound, which you can't with a Warlord (at 3000 points anyway), and I do like the Warhound.
