For those who haven't heard, Fanatic is changing their forum set up, effective this weekend.
Much of the subject matter from the Playtest Forums is going to be highly moderated/restricted and they are referring people who wish to discuss alternative rules and so forth to outside websites, including this one.
I can only hope that they have contacted the assorted webmasters about referring potentially large volumes of traffic to other sites. I figured I would post here as a "just in case" heads up.
I can't say I'm particularly pleased with this development, but I'm not surprised and I do understand the reasoning behind it.

It is about time. I know I left because it was taking me too much time to dive through the massive amount of drivel to find true, playtested information. I cannot tell you how many flame wars I had to read through as the army champion only to find out one of the people had never played a game of EpicA let alone the list as written.

Hi Guys,
I stay in the 'Nid Champion cubby hole and avoid all the politics and other drivel...
I was not informed.
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

dafrca | Drivel is the perfect word. There seems to be a new batch of "players" giving their "informed" opinions. You can tell which ones haven't actually played E:A yet. At least I have enough sense to know that since I haven't played E:A yet, I shouldn't join that forum to throw in my 2 cents' worth.

Hi DS,
I don't mind players or playtesters who haven't played yet as long as they are honest about it and reasonable with their arguments/advice/etc.
The idea though is that they WILL playtest the list and get involved...
I would love to have you over at the 'Nid forums...
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

Hey guys, some of you know me, Maksim, Dafrca, nealhunt. I have posted over here before but I only come by occasionally, it looks like that could change tho with the changes over at specialist games forums. I really feel we're getting the boot for the most part. I have been worried about Fanatic for a long time, and now this change just looks to be another in a line of downhill support. I hope you guys wont mind some refugees heading this way. Grimshawl

Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak. | Maksim,
If I had the time to playtest, I would be more than happy to join you at the Nid forum. I know it helps to have a veteran player give his perspective.

Thankyou guys. I really was caught off guard by these sudden changes over on the SG boards, I knew they were working on a new Website look, but I didnt have any idea they were planning such a change of the forum. After rereading the Blog I am even more discouraged about the whole thing. Grim

I have to damit that while I think that some of the playtest forums are bordering on non-functional, I think this is going to be a bit extreme.
I'm very curious as to how many things are going to be working from here on - Army Champions, the Rules Committee, etc..
Oh, well. As with all things, we'll just have to wait and see.

Welcome Grinshawl.
We're pretty laid back here and overall VERY polite.
You'll have fun here.
