So, gonna do a briefish introduction here, before moving on to the pictures of painted goodies.
6mm eh, been a while...
Space Marine was the original GW big box game I owned back in the very early '90's and I guess along with that and Hero Quest and Space Crusade, then Blood Bowl, Necromunda, Warhammer and 40K, that took up most of the past 25 years. I can remember playing huge games spread out across the floor, taking up most of a weekend. Fast forward a bit and I now have a dedicated hobby-room, home to numerous display cabinets, my gigantic paintstation and a decent sized gaming table.
Currently, my main gaming (and painting) focus is Warmachine and Hordes, but I really love painting 15mm stuff too, and am always on the look out for rule sets I can switch to 15mm. The other half picked up a bunch of Onslaught OTC, and grabbed me a pack of Legion Stalkers and Mantis Beasts, which lay about a while, along with some GW Hive Tyrants I got on ebay until we saw a group of guys playing Epic at our local games club (Falkirk District Wargames). That spurred my interest and I dug out the Stalkers and rattled out a quick test base in about an hour (including washes and glue drying), then promptly figured out a rough idea for an army, and stuck an order in to Onslaught to flesh out my Legion.
Then I stuck an order in with Microworld Games, because I really like the look of the Beastmen (was torn between them and Daemons) and figured I could do a 6mm Warmaster army.
And snagged a GW Dominatrix on ebay.
And ordered a load of round bases from Troublemaker Games (does anybody know if they email any sort of confirmation?)
So, currently just waiting for those orders to arrive, and planning global domination on a tiny scale.
I joined up to the Epic Space Marine 40k Facebook group, so apologies, because I am really lazy and hate technology, I'll probably have painted pictures up there before here, because it is so much quicker and easier to upload them.
That said, here are a couple to kick off whilst I sit at the back of the letterbox
First Legion Stalker test base, all done with Army Painter colours. I have, since taking the picture added some darker clump foliage too. Yeah, it looks terrible this close up, but it isn't too bad from tabletop distance. Relatively quick and easy to do as well, so, the army should take shape sooner rather than later.

And the epic paint station shot, this was taken a while back now, some stuff has moved around a bit, I'll get a more recent picture when I get started on my stuff.

Yes, that is the full range of Wargames Foundry (bar 4 OOP pots), new GW range, Army Painter range, P3 range, all the Reaper HD paints, and some extra Reaper and Vallejo stuff. Plus there is more underneath it (Vallejo and old GW ones). Just started buying the Scale75 sets now too... I have a problem.
Cheers,
John
