Hi,
Now that university break has begun and my workload as a result has considerably lessened (or at least I'm more at liberty with my schedule^^) I decided to do some sculpting again.
I thought about doing an epic infantry piece, and to make it more of a challenge (and thus help with my, ahem, "motivation" ) ?I want *you* to propose a subject.
You are free to choose anything out of the 40K universe, provided it can be considered infantry (in a wide sense) and that a model exists in 40K, Inquisitor, Necromunda or that there is some other form of source image to work from.
Provided there is some resonance to this post up to and including the weekend I will most likely ?start ?working on the project next monday and aim to be finished by the end of the week (I have to squeeze in *some* uni-work, unfortunately ).
I will also be doing an update every day (or at least try to do so), though I don't know whether I will be able to take pics since I only have access to a friends digicam, and I'm not sure whether I could have it for an entire week. What's more, I don't have webspace (or more to the point: my knowhow in this area is sorely lacking).
However, I would at the very least like to put up some images of the finished mini and will try to work out something to that effect.
Cheers,
Drasannar

Elysian Drop Troops seem to be the big thing at Forgeworld and some of my favourite models... would be nice to see an epic version

Dark Eldar warriors.
And, you can upload pictures to this board, using the 'Browse' button at the bottom here.

Well, I was fairly convinced that ?those ?would come up, though not as the first ones...
Hmm, out of those, Sisters would probably be the hardest I think. DE Warriors ought to be fairly easy, except that I would have to be pretty careful to keep them slim enough while not breaking the armature all the time. Drop troops would be challenging because they'd be based on FW models with an unholy level of detail and precision, but nevertheless I'd probably like doing them the most of those mentioned. Still, I will go by the majority, whatever that turns out to be.
@Cybershadow
These are probably the first signs of serious dementia on my part, but I can't find any "Browse" button, neither at the bottom, nor left, right or up I *do* have an "Image" button in the row of iB Code buttons, but that only allows me to link to images via an URL, not to upload them. I would be very much obliged if you could help me pinpoint that elusive button, as the only thing left to do then would be to persuade my pal to lend me his digicam (or else blind him and run...).
Cheers,
Drasannar

When you press "add reply" the browse button is beneath the Post Options box

Strange, I only have the following 3 buttons:
-Add Reply -Preview Post -Save to Notepad
However, I noticed that below, under "Posting Abilities", "Dynamic image posting" is listed as disabled. I have no clue whether this has anything to do with my problem, but I thought I should perhaps mention it.
(I would love to attach a screenshot, if I just could... )
Cheers,
Drasannar

This is what you should see. (And yes, dynamic imaging linking is off for everyone.)
I have put a red box around the image part, but it is difficult to see.

Now that is strange.
I am completely missing the section where "Browse" should be.
"Add Reply", "Preview Post" and "Save to Notepad" are right below "Post Options" in my reply screen.
And I already thought I was retarded for not finding that button...
Has something like this ever happened before? If not, could we perhaps call this area of webspace the Drasannar triangle, after it's finder ?
Cheers,
Drasannar

No idea what's wrong Drasannar... but I do have a vote - I second CS' Dark Eldar!

Now that is strange! Can you either email me a screen shot ( webdude@epic40k.co.uk ), or I can change your password and access your account and check it out for myself.
We may have discovered 'the Drasannar triangle' indeed!

Yesss, I found it!
After sending the screenshot I looked at it once more and also had a look at yours again, CyberShadow.
I noticed you were using IE, while I was using Opera, so I got a hunch it might have something to do with it.
And indeed - the button is there in IE.
I wonder what else I might have missed over the course of the last year .
Cheers

Seems to be a tie between Sisters and DE Warriors.
@ Haarken: Do you want to break this tie by changing your vote (assuming no one else posts)?
(I could make this into a poll, but since I intend to start work on monday already, I don't think it would be worthwhile).
By the way, I've spoken to my buddy and will be able to borrow his camera over the next weekend, so there will be pics of the finished sculpt .
Cheers,
Drasannar
