Hey all 1st time poster. I wanted to say right off the bat - thanks for all the great rules and work you all put into this and keeping a great game alive and well.

I have finally convinced myself to get into E:A and I love the Tau (my second choice is Space Marine), but I suppose I waited too long as now all of the wonderful FW miniatures (or almost all of them) are long gone...

So I wanted to ask you all what can I use to proxy many of the Tau items?

I found:

and I can use some green stuff to make broadsides (using the proxied crisis suits) and different paint schemes etc. to make pathfinders. The big issue is finding proxies for hammerheads and devilfish and other similar products the FW has gotten rid of...

I have seen a few FW Epic Tau items on Ebay - but they are typically only shipping within the UK, which means no luck for me...

any suggestions for Tau'ish looking skimmers? Or other items on the Tau list that could be proxied?

Make sure whatever comes out of this is in the open forum L4, proxy lists are always useful.

Personally I like the choices for FW and drones (which aren't really in the lists atm)
Haven't found anything better for Crisis suits but feel those ones don't really fit the bill.

Consider getting hold some spare contents of Risk: Star Wars, Risk: 2210 and Risk: Transformers. They contain a great number of plastic miniatures that could be used as proxies or to base conversions off of. The SW variant has hover tanks suitable for use as grav tanks. 2210 has some good droids useable for Broadsides. The Transformers box has a lot of robots that could easliy stand in for Crisis suits and tanks that can be used as grav vehicles. You might want to convert them, but having an actual minature to work from makes it a lot easier than having to scratch build everything.
