Who is driving this bus? Nobody has driven this bus for a long time...
Since we're comparing titan armies: I have 1 Imperator completed, a Warmonger in progress, ~9x Imperial Warlords, 8x Imperial Reavers, 6x Warhounds, several Chaos titans. I think I have sold off more titans than others have owned!
I have been working on refining my mathematical formulas for titan weapons and I think I have them down a lot better than before. When time permits I have actually been working on taking the weapon rules in the AMTL list and the modular weapons I have been advocating and combining the two concepts. This has been driven by several things:
1) The AMTL rules have two versions of about 6 weapons to account for the same weapon bits being on the Warhounds and the Reavers yet to keep the power of the Warhound weapons lower. While this keeps the Warhounds in line with conventional thinking, I think it's stupid to have proliferated the weapons list like this. It just makes things confusing. If a weapon bit is a Plasma Blastgun, it should be a Plasma Blastgun only, regardless of the titan it is mounted on.
2) The modular weapons scheme I had been pushing had the flaw in that to it required all of the weapons to be the same power, and to make that happen the stats needed to be changed, sometimes in tortuous ways. (The Rocket Launcher and the Volcano Cannon are examples in opposite extremes.) Maybe not all of the weapons should be the same power...
I still firmly believe that titan weapons should be modular and that titans should be the same cost within the same chassis. One of the basic thoughts behind the modular weapons scheme was that a titan chassis can handle a certain amount of weapons, either due to power requirements, mass restrictions, or other requirements/restrictions. Any titan that goes out to a battle "underarmed" without some form of performance compensation is a waste that the AMTL would not tolerate. But instead of making all of the weapons the same power maybe it should be that if a titan has some weaker weapons in one or more of the weapon mounts (like the Warhound weapons) a more powerful weapon should be able to be mounted in some of the other weapon mounts, or maybe extra weapons elsewhere on the titan.
3) One of the favorite things for Epic players to do is to customize their titans in some way or another, and titan rules that facilitate that should be welcome by players.
4) The realization that the titan CC weapons would have to follow the same firing arcs as the ranged combat weapons, and the need for big firing arcs on any titan mounted AAA weapons, showed me that the weapons selection should be even more diversified than what I had originally imagined.
5) The new Reaver Titan that Forgeworld was showing off at the cons showed a carapace Rocket Launcher and a 3x barrelled arm weapon that was otherwise identical to the 2x barrelled Warhound weapon.
What I have been working on for my local group, and maybe for putting on the boards here, was a scheme where there are several different "weights" of weapons. That would allow for the Warhounds to have their weapons, allow for Reavers to mount those exact same weapons and/or other weapons, and make it viable for Warlords to mount the lighter Warhound weapons up to Warlord-only weapons and still be fearsome. All while keeping it simple and workable.

I also think that making three different AMTL army lists is a good idea: a Knight World list that is knight and infantry heavy, an AMTL Divisio Militaris list to represent the AMTL going to fight someplace like in the Armageddon War, and a Forgeworld planetary defense force.
Realistically 3 more army lists could be drawn up: Divisio Mandati (Emperor titans and Pax Imperia) for fighting against rebellious IG and Space Marines, Divisio Telepathica (Psi-Titans) for Psi-Titans, Grey Knights, and any Inquisition-oriented stuff, and Divisio Investigatus (R&D) for the ultimate kit-basher army. (Leman Russ with walker legs anyone?)

The current AMTL amry list is missing not only Orbital Bombardment options, as highlighted by the AMTL ships released for BFG, but also missing are AMTL special rules. The Space Marines have ATSKNF, the IG have the Commissars special rule, the Orks have the Waaagh!!! special rule, the Eldar have Farsight, Hit & Run, May Not Garrison, and Eldar Technology special rules, Chaos has the Summoning special rules, the...
I think you get the point.
There are two special rules that I think the AMTL Divisio Militaris list should have:
Modular Weapons - allow different weapons from one titan to another
Scout Titans - where solo Warhounds can get "Scout" status for an additional 25(?) points. (They are called Warhound Scout Titans after all...)
Just my thoughts...
