OK... almost finished my first command room. Pictures posting soon. Next I think I'llneed some coridors and intersection.

But while considering this, any ideas how the living quarters of space marines would look? Bunkers? Alcove like Borg? Or normal beds?

Any one know of a good picture/map of an underground HQ I can try and struture his one?

Well, it depends on the Chapter. But for most, it would be a small, barren cell with a hard bunk. I.e. a monk's room.

For Space Wolves, same, but throw wolf pelts everywhere. For Imperial Fists, stick nails in the bed. For White Scars, make it a tent. For Mortifactors, a crypt. For Blood Angels, replace bunk with coffin.

hehe. I like the blood angel coffins.

Although I have Blood Angels, this is for Ultramarines. So I guess bog standard Bunks it is then. But wondering, do they sleep in their armour. Must need sturdy bunk beds.

No, not within the Fortress-Monastary, unless they were at a state of combat-readiness for some reason.

Well, it varies with backround source. Most seem to imply that normally a Space Marine will have a servant - a neophyte, an aspirant, a chapter serf, a servitor or a bondsman of some form - who will aid him in these duties (as usual, the exact nature of the servant varies by Chapter).

While at least one source disagrees, a Marine can probably take off his armour alone. Putting it on is slightly more dubious, I don't think it can be done unaided.

Given the neural connections I'd say someone had to help put it on, I'd imagine it to be like putting on a space suit in the shuttle.
As for taking it off, well there's always more than one way to skin a cat... :devil:

Well... here's the first component. Due to some bad planning, the parts dont fit nicely together because of the coat of paint. Add some struts to the top of to hold the thing together more neatly (not shown in pictures).

Missed the sunny days to take photos, hence the lack of light.

There is also two panel and some pipes on the other side of the wall where the door is, but forgot to take pictures ?

At the moment I'm using some think platic bar in the shape of I that fits undneath the piece to connect it to others, but that's not quite working out, so trying to rethink the architecture.
