Septic is a rhyming slang term. Septic tank = yank. So no, not as degrogatory as you would propably have thought 
Goober is a Military term (well navy at least). For "Gary Goobers". The origin is lost is a drunken haze somewhere no doubt but it is widely used in my circles and again, is not derogatory, just descriptive!

We share the same problems, though on different sides of the globe...
Except I dont have what I consider to be "scads of epic"- I'm always on the lookout for MORE...
