I am in an election run off with my dearest friend Maame.
Fancy an election run-off? I'm sure my superior knowledge of International Relations and contacts will secure me the position....

Got the roughcut of the deck shape done this afternoon; brought the deck home today, along with a one of the school's sanders I'm borrowing for the weekend- should get it perfectly rounded and smoothed by monday.

Hi!
The most expansive titan armorcast made was the great gargant that was back then 300 dollars. I could only imagine how much FW would charge for something similar.

Today my son and I started work on my two mini terrain boards which I am going to use for photographs and for a test bed for a bigger desert terrain board later on.
Using two squareish bits of 5mm MDF approx 24"x18" one will be as mentioned a desert terrain, the other will be rocky and grassy.
First stage was to stick some small rocks on the boards. My son (2?) helped find the little rocks in the garden and glued some to the boards.
At the moment it looks like MDF with small rocks stuck to it, but I think it will look better soon...

I remember that one. Back then $300 sounded like an enormous mountain of money. Apparently there's SOME benefit in graduating. Assuming you get a job, that is...
I could only imagine how much FW would charge for something similar.
|
Considering that the FW Warhound costs about the same amount in Pounds Sterling...

So far so good. Some painting more on the Sisters. I think I botched the straight Blood Red highlight, will try to fix with Blood Red + Red Gore mix.
Got my hands to GIMP. Quick and easy. Made a varian Dark Angels badge, based straight off that freehand "ultimate" DA badge I'm working on. Have a look:

Ready for the exams. Been writing my presentation until 1 AM yesterday, but it was worth that.
Played Dawn of War intensively. Made a new CSM scheme dubbed Chosen of Khorne (similar to World Eaters somewhat). Learned to beat Chaos with Chaos on hard CPU setting.
Made a 2-CD compilation of my fave Hammerfall tracks plus a few others. Called it "Hammer Time".
Today bought a pack of SOB Battle Sisters, and (woot!) found TWO helmeted Sisters there plus the "furious" one as well. Great.
Here's a quick way to do DOW badges/banners in GIMP: There is a much quicker way to add transparency to a badge or banner using GIMP then the one described.
The initial image you can prepare in MS Paint. I assume you did that. With Paint you can also adjust width/height of the image. Save it as a bitmap with 24-bit color depth. Make sure that you chose a unique color to mark the areas to be transparent (ie one that does not appear anywhere else in the image).
1. Open image in GIMP. 2. Select all. From menu Layer--->Transparency--->Add Alpha channel. 3. Select all. Layer--->Transparency--->Alpha on selection. 4. Maximize the image window and press Shift+Ctrl+E to enlarge the image to fit the window size. This will make the next step easier. 5. Press Shift+O to select color, click on any of the places where you have got your "transparency color". Then press Ctrl+X to cut out that part. This will leave the Alpha Channel in place of that color. 6. File--->Save as. change extension to Targa. GIMP will pop another widow, with option for RLE compression and another one that is ut of our concern here. Uncheck RLE Compression and click OK.
Congrats, the badge/banner is ready for usage. Have fun. | Remember that badges are 64x64 and banners 64x96
Attached is my new DA badge with a few adjustments made for it to sit better on the shoulder pads.

Finished my DA AAA AFVs, used a Scotia GEV Truck for one of them ... they are in the Motor Pool ! About 90% done with my Angor Wat ruined idol (Buddha ?!). ?After that, Giant Mushrooms and ... I still have not finished my E40K "Stalingrad" ruins (!), they only got as far as sprayed black years ago ! Those will probably be next ! ? ?

Added a bit of paint to my Grotnoughts. I stilll need to do the last details buut hoopefully they should be finished by tomorrow.
Also I've been grinding up stuff for rubble which I'm adding to my Cityfight pieces. It's pretty scary how much you need to get a good efffect. Those babies are going to be HEAVY once completely finished!
Cheers!

Nowhere near the detail you find on a current FW model, but still very nice and tasty.
