I am looking for some suggestions for flocking bases of Epic infantry. I have never been a fan of the sand and then paint method of texturing bases but most of the flock I have seen is a bit too coarse for Epic scale. Can anyone recommend some good flock available in the UK that suits epic scale infantry?

Well I don't know about the UK, but I'm sure Woodland Scenics is available at least on the net ?!  It is very fine and in many colors I almost never use sand ... :)

I agree.  The sawdust-style flock looks sort of fuzzy on 40K scale stuff, but it looks fine on epic scale.  I also use Scenic Woodlands.

I don't like sand on Epic stuff outside of terrain.

I think it's the same stuff I use when I'm not drowning Squats in static grass. A very fine, grainy sort of flock, right? Similar to one of GWs own products.

Hi!

I use that stuff GW makes, I suppose any similar thing from any company would do too. :)

Woodland scenics - nice fine grain and colourfast - looks great.

THe best description I can give you, Justinel, is "bird sand", acquired from the pet shop 2 doors down from my local GW at the princely cost of around 45p for 3 kg of the stuff.

I ain't running out any time soon :)

Thanks, actually I should check out the pet shop round the corner more thoroughly, usually I run in, get some cat food and run out again.

Don't forget the cat litter - really, someone MUST try to use Fullers' earth for boulders in Epic... :-:
