Just wondering, as I never really bothered asking...

Is there any females in Space Marines... and no, I don't mean sisters of battles etc.

Imperial Guards don't seem to have Females, but is it possible?

And Space Marines as in the generically modified troops, are there any females?

No female marines except in home-made fluff (usually not very good re;female marines imo) people have made up... GW fluff says their bodies are not suited to the genetic modification/ they can't accept the geneseed etc etc...

It is possible that some marine chapters do employ females in their households as servants or even servitors.

The Guard do have women troops- in the Gaunt's Ghosts books there are quite a few, and there has been stuff in WD, (the Last Chancers have a couple of women in them iirc), all over the place really. Short answer is; yes they do.

Female Space Marines is a bad bad bad idea! An entire week every month they'd impossible to fighht alongside -not to mention against! :p :D

...Come to think of it, maybe Khorne Berzerkers are actually females trapped in a constant state of PMS... Sort of gives a new meaning to the phrase "Blood for the Blood God...."

Cheers! :)

WARNING: YOU ARE ABOUT TO READ MATERIAL WHICH, ACCORDING TO THE PARTY LINE, IS CHAUVINISTIC. IF SUCH THING BOTHERS YOU HIT THE "BACK" BUTTON.

You are aware that PMS means both Pre- and Post MS, and between them is the MS (NOT microsoft for once), are you? Experts are still debating on when Post MS stops and Pre MS starts...  }:)

Storm has in right, IMO. SoBs in the old fluff were SM counterparts ... I guess ! :D  And of course, Gaunt's Ghosts, Last Chancers, etc. have females, too ... :p

Not to mention about 50% of the Eldar fighting forces are female, Squats you can't tell apart so who knows.

Marines dont have females, they would be a distraction. The IG, however, do have females in the ranks. The Last Chancers have a female, and there is a female Comissar mini around somewhere. They are under-represented, by they are certainly there... in fact, an IG force of only females would be interesting.

Don't forget the Escher gang from Necromunda, my wife has a set of those I bought her.  Some nice models there.

I'd would have thought that any genetic stock that was good would be used for the mariens. As for distraction, well they are so geneticaly messed up I doubt that they can tell the difference or care.
Same as most armies, use bromide in the tea or what ever high tech version isneeded to get the job done and the enemy dead.
Women often make better snipers, better patience and the ability to read mens minds :p

Only the use of women as snipers was generally by the Russians in WWII. Women in the SMs is a "no go" in my mind.  Males have more muscle mass and testostrone ... plus the male mind tends to be logical while female mind is emotional.  The male is better genetic stock for bio-enhanced, super warriors ... :;):

:D funny replies.

Although I tend to agree, but we're talking about genetically enhanced humans here, don't you think they could genetically enhance the females and also fix the problems with them... i.e. so they don't have PMS, fix their emotional problems and so they don't distract other males (i.e. so they fit in the standard SM suit)

I written quite a few stories back when I was 16 (back when I didn't know much about the fluff) so I always had females in SM... I guess if I ever wanted to re-write these, I'm a bit buggered.

The official explanation is that the Marine genetic engineering is keyed to male hormones and can't be done to females. And since nobody can do such engineering anymore they can't invent stuff which works on females.

In practice, I think it's just an excuse to have Sisters of Battle in 40K.... or to make the 'sm monastic life' fluff fit.  I also have a theory that Terminator armour is in fact used by females - who could tell?
Oh, and the Ad Mech does include women in its ranks.

So SoB are just chicks in power armour?
