Just wondering, as I never really bothered asking...
Is there any females in Space Marines... and no, I don't mean sisters of battles etc.
Imperial Guards don't seem to have Females, but is it possible?
And Space Marines as in the generically modified troops, are there any females?

No female marines except in home-made fluff (usually not very good re;female marines imo) people have made up... GW fluff says their bodies are not suited to the genetic modification/ they can't accept the geneseed etc etc...
It is possible that some marine chapters do employ females in their households as servants or even servitors.
The Guard do have women troops- in the Gaunt's Ghosts books there are quite a few, and there has been stuff in WD, (the Last Chancers have a couple of women in them iirc), all over the place really. Short answer is; yes they do.

Storm has in right, IMO. SoBs in the old fluff were SM counterparts ... I guess ! And of course, Gaunt's Ghosts, Last Chancers, etc. have females, too ...

Marines dont have females, they would be a distraction. The IG, however, do have females in the ranks. The Last Chancers have a female, and there is a female Comissar mini around somewhere. They are under-represented, by they are certainly there... in fact, an IG force of only females would be interesting.

Don't forget the Escher gang from Necromunda, my wife has a set of those I bought her. Some nice models there.

I'd would have thought that any genetic stock that was good would be used for the mariens. As for distraction, well they are so geneticaly messed up I doubt that they can tell the difference or care. Same as most armies, use bromide in the tea or what ever high tech version isneeded to get the job done and the enemy dead. Women often make better snipers, better patience and the ability to read mens minds

Only the use of women as snipers was generally by the Russians in WWII. Women in the SMs is a "no go" in my mind. Males have more muscle mass and testostrone ... plus the male mind tends to be logical while female mind is emotional. The male is better genetic stock for bio-enhanced, super warriors ...

The official explanation is that the Marine genetic engineering is keyed to male hormones and can't be done to females. And since nobody can do such engineering anymore they can't invent stuff which works on females.

In practice, I think it's just an excuse to have Sisters of Battle in 40K.... or to make the 'sm monastic life' fluff fit. I also have a theory that Terminator armour is in fact used by females - who could tell? Oh, and the Ad Mech does include women in its ranks.
