How did you do the metal plates?
|
VANVLAK's ULTRA-COOL METHOD FOR ORKY METAL PLATES:
They're made from this metal foil which comes with my contact lenses. It's somewhat thicker than tin foil but still fairly easy to manipulate. I don't know if there's anything equivalent easily available. Simply cut out the pieces you want and press the rivets in with a pointed object. Then attatch the piece to the model.
Cheers!

Thanks for the cool method about making metal plates, I thought it might be that, but wasn't sure about the type of foil used.
Most of the stuff I have been working on I can't talk about... or the pictures were fuzzy.
here is a picture of my Grot Cutta for 40K

I finally got a reply back from GW regarding my comments on Games Day Oz:
a minimal 3 liner from the Service Manager saying "Sorry to hear you didnt enjoy the day"
And so begins round two of what is shaping up to be an extended correspondance campaign...

Wow... a new thread while I'm away!
Some superb stuff going on here... very well done everyone!
WMN- that Krawla is superb! Really excellent....
I'm not sure of this, but for thick metal foil for making those excellent riveted plates you could try the foil from wine bottles that wraps around the cork, or foil from tomato puree tubes..
