As a quick followup to Stormseer's IG thread I've posted this topic regarding IG Camo schemes. Basically we thought it'd be nice to have a resource where people can contribute examples of IG colourschemes. Simply submit a pic or two with examples of your IG colourscheme along with a few words on how you achieved the result. In the end we plan to compile all the material into an article for Incoming.
As for the submitted pics it's best if the pic is at least 200x200 pixels wide. It is also better to snap the pic of only a few models close up rather than a large army shot where it's hard to make out any detail. (though you should feel free also to post army shots to give an impression of the entire army ? ?However the most improtant thing is to have a lot of submissions so don't see these guidelines as limitations: submit what you like: we want to see it!
It is probably easier to have one pic per post along with the painting guide for that pic. If you have several different schemes things can easily get confusing if everyting is packed into one post.
Cheers! ?

Sounds like a grand plan & I will certainly contribute when I can.
I've been planning a similar thing myself which I was going to do up as an article for my site & incoming. Along with the marine article(s) that I've mentioned elsewhere, I'm doing up at least 14 chimeeras each in a different scheme & each with a corresponding IG trooper.
Hopefully with some others submitting ideas I might actually get off my butt & do some more work on them!

Hi..
Great Idea, here are 2 pics of one of my Shadowsword tanks. Its the "303" command tank. Painting Scheme is pretty easy: Basecoat Bubonic Brown, and large spots of Dark Flesh and Deep Green (Tamiya XF-26) all over the model. Then I used a small detail brush to cover the model with smaller dots of the three base colors. Finally picked out some details and .. Ready!

Here's a fairly simple camo scheme. Spray undercoat your model black and give it a heavy drybrush of Catachan Green. Then mix Catachan an Camo green and drybrush again. Finally highlight with pure Camo Green. -If you prefer extra light highlights try mixing in a bit of Rotting Flesh as well. When everything is dry I sometimes use a very fine black pen to draw up panel linings where these have been obscured.
This technique is very fast and you can easily paint up a company or two of armour in a matter of a couple of hours. It might however be a good idea to add a few detail in contrasting colours so the overall paint scheme doesn't look too boring.
I use this scheme for the armour of my Cadian and Catachan army.
Cheers!

Simple Desert Camo: This is another really simple and quick scheme. Spray undercoat your model white. Then a basecoat of Desert Yellow followed by a wash of thinned down Graveyard Earth. Once this is thuroughly dry you first drybrush a mix of 75%Desert Yellow an 25% white and finish the highlights with a 50-50 mix.
Cheers! ?

This is a Tallarn Camo Scheme. It can be done in twwo ways. The quick'n'easy way is to undercoat your model white and wash it with thinned down Snakebite Leather. Once this is dry you paint the camo pattern with thinned down Dark Angles Green (though I suspect that the newer paints are too bright green; you might get a better effect with Catachan Green)
The other way is to basecoat your model Bubonic Brown. Then you wash it Snakebbite Leather and oncve this is dry you paint the highlights mixing Bubonic Brown and white. For the Camo pattern paint first Dark Angles Green with Goblin green mixed in for the highlights OR Catachan Green with Camo Green for the highlights.
Cheers!

I have a brown camo scheme but unfortunately I cannot show pics since it is entered into the Painting Comp.
Jimbo: Can I describe how a camo sheme is painted here or would that count as discussion? If it does I have to wait to post this one untill the competition ends (or my entry is out of the race)
The second scheme is an Adeptus Mechanicus one I'm working on. I haven't actually done it yet but it will be Shadow Grey (or possibly Codex Grey) with a Terracotta Zig Zag camo pattern. I'll post pics ASAP.
Cheers!
