Well, I agree that the books by Lois Bujold are good reading. How sad that my local library has only two tomes of the series...

Neuromancer is fantastic, a worthy read!

If you liked Neuromancer, then try finding the Ghost Rider 2099 comic books. There's a real fun to pick out all Neuromancer references there... and yes, Chiba and Mycotoxin are there too - but not only that.

Just finished Red Mars by Kim Stanley Robinson; an utterly fantastic book I thought! I'm sure some of you will have read it at some point- If you havn't, hunt down a copy! I'm looking out for the sequels at the moment- can't wait to see what happens after the cliffhanger ending of the book... 5 stars from me...
Oh, and I also read James Blish's A Life for the Stars in the Cities in Flight series.. I didn't really enjoy it that much I have to say; found it didn't go into quite enough detail at times- it didn't really capture the scale a city in space would have imo.. each to his own though...
Now I'm reading The Mote in God's Eye by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle- thumbs up so far!

I am also a fan of Turtledove.
I have just finished reading The Victorious Opposition and I am about to purchase the next in the series, Return Engagement, which has just been published.
There seems a few more of his books which I haven't read yet which I must get round to.

I still plan on reading the "Hammer's Slammers" book my buddy gave me, but I just have not got around to it ! ?I go to a great Hammer's Slammers site, too. Today at work will be slow, so I'll bring my WWI Great Battles book, to keep me busy ... back to reality !

Hi!
Jimbo, I have been reading that series too. I'm glad to hear the latest book has been published so I can pick up the last two to read.

Finished The Mote in God's Eye last night- excellent stuff, I'd highly reccomend it!
Now.. I have a choice- I can read either Neuromancer, Unto Leviathan (anyone read it?) or Gav Thorpe's Dark Angels book.... decisions decisions...

Finished Unto Leviathan this morning after starting it yesterday.... superb book- chilling and unbelievably tense (especially if you're reading it 2am )! My only complaint was that the ending was a rather inconclusive- perhaps there will be a sequel...

I have now finished reading the book.
It was a fun read, but it was a bit of a Turtledove wannabe...
Characters were very shallow, but I would recommend reading it (light reading only).
