Through out the war, the Blood Angels continued to play the hammer to their brothers, the Iron Hands, anvil crushing all traitors between them. Since the era of the Great Crusade, the Blood Angels were ever known for rapid shock assaults delivered with astonishing speed and ferocity. Task Force Daedalus was instrumental in drawing out the enemy from Hive Validus in the battle of the 3 valleys; Deploying from orbital pods, the 3rd company ("The Ironhelms") deployed in full force from the Strike vessel, Sword of Baal. In this battle, the massed Drop Pod assault lit up the sky of the target world as dozens of these screaming harbingers of woe streaked across the firmament.Attachment:

Painters notes:Man red is fun (honestly).
I really wanted to give my BA a really classic candy red look as was found on the old GW artwork (when 'Steelers got their redesign in like 92ish). Red was built up with the airbrush as a series of glazes starting with VMA yellow to make the reds brighten up. Then AP Dragon to set the tone. VMA Red 003 was used to bring out the lightlights (applied hairbrush). Enjoyed using a series of greens to act as complimentary colors on plasma glow, lenses, etc. Lots of brass and silver weapons.
Using Mr Hobby oil washes on these to give that strong, almost cell shaded contrast. That stuff is pure space magic. It's astounding.
As I plan on every BA formation having a slightly different value to them, the drop pods were actually painted using a grey primer and VGC gory red base. Gradually highlighted up through blood red and VMA Red 102 and the edged with AP Pure Red to give it that deep crimson. Lots of antiqued brass added to the fins to give them a baroque look.
