Start of Game


Storm Talons loose one to flak and take out a Manticore, breaking them.


Another comes in and lays a BM on the Deathstrikes.


Manticores hit the SC for 5 BMs.


The Death Company doubles.


A Deathstrike takes out a Storm Raven.


Land Speeders lays a BM on the Sentinels.


TBolts take out the Stormtalon.


Storm Ravens double.


TBolts splash two more Stormtalons.


Missed a BA activation, TBolts lay a BM on the Speeders.


Baals double.


A Shadowsword marches.


Scouts grab some cover in front of the Death Company.


A Mech Coy doubles and shoots Matt in the Baals.


The SC doubles and lays a BM the Mech Coy.


Sentinels march to screen.


The HQ doubles and lays a BM on the Speeders.


Another Mech Coy doubles on the Assault Marines (the missed SM activation), taking one out in a crossfire with the other Mech Coy.

Turn 2


Terminators come in.


The HQ advances on the HQ and takes out an infantry stand.


Terminators retain and engage.


SM are up by 5 in kills.


The HQ breaks and falls back.


The Mech Coy vaporizes Matt's Baals.


The Second Mech Coy retains and sustains on the Assault Marines, they are destroyed too.


Speeders advance and lay a BM on the Shadowsword.


Sentinels double and lay a BM on the Storm Ravens.


The Storm Ravens advance and take out some Chimera, the Scouts retain and engage.


The Mech Coy breaks.


A Tbolts takes out a Death Company Rhino, one goes down to the Hunter.


They double to an objective.


Manticores hit the Speeders but fail to take any out.


The Shadowsword advances and takes out a Rhino to supress the Hunter.





The Deathstrike kills one and the hack down takes the other.


TBolts take out a Tornado.

Storm Ravens screen the Blitz and take out the Sentinels.


The Mech Coy doubles and lays a BM on them.


The Death Company doubles to grab blitz.

Sentinels deny Blitz and take out a Death Company (forgot they had invulnerable, he made it when we rolled at the end of the game).

I have 4 laptops in this room and cannot play a pixel pushing tabletop simulator on any of them.

Dave's lucky he won 2-0. I'm pretty confident that I would've won in points

The game quickly turned brutal when I lost my air. 400 points netted me one broken manticore FM and a BM. Things would've gone a little better if the storm-whatevers had taken out a deathstrike.

The Stormravens feel a little pricey for what they can do. I wanted to take a couple of dreadnoughts with my BTS tactical, but that put it at 600 points. No thanks. As it was, adding three transports made them the first non-SC marine BTS I've taken in living memory. Dave suggested having a tactical FM that was 4-strong so you could add the 'ravens and dreads and not be so expensive. I suspect that a FM with stormraven transports will get similar treatment as storm troopers/valkyries - too good to ignore so lots of negative attention in-game.

Overall, I wasn't able to use the BA goodies to great effect. The death company engaged some sentinels at the end of the game, and my 5-strong assaults got wasted from a sustain. Oh, and I can't forget the multiple hits to my Baals. They got vaporized at the beginning of turn 2. Oh well.
