I have just noticed the guys on the lower shelf. I assume they are Kriegers, because there's a Gorgon next to them.

They are some old forumware Death Korps of Krieg that was knocking around some years ago. It's just a tiny portion of the shed loads of stuff that I have sitting around in the Geekanarium (my loft) for painting. It appears that I buy more than I paint. Here's some pics...

As an aside - where'd you source your mdf/hardboard building bases from?

I can't remember specifically now but they were from a MDF miniature base maker off of eBay. I simply messaged the guy a set of dimensions for the bases which I had worked out that fit the plastic scenery from GW and asked for them to be cut with 1cm radius corners. They work a treat. I'm currently sorting another quote from another supplier on there (can't remeber the original supplier) as I only have another 3 bases left when I finish the 5 ruined buildings you can see in the scenery thread. I'll let people know how I get on and post up details of price etc. when I have more info.

I finally have an update on the IG. Just finished a detachment of Leman Russ tanks, completing the company. I think they turned out OK but nothing earth shattering. I think they whole army is coming together nicely with the drab, grey throughout look I was hoping to achieve.

I'm working on some Shadow Swords next. At the going rate I'll be posting up pics in the new year :P

I am big fan of trollz russes and your paintjob is wonderful! Really well done!
I suppose it took quite a while to paint them all by brush

Doomkitten - you can never have enough artillery! I love the idea of shelling the enemy into submission using the space marine/netepic era rules.

Thanks for the encouraging words, guys. I've started the Shadow Swords now but I don't enjoy oainting these forumware super heavies. There's aot of issues with the fine details being inconsistent at best, and in places there's surface artefacts that must have been from the printing process (it's kinda like a 3D tartan pattern over some surfaces). They make edge highliting a bit of a pain.

They're looking a bit rough at the moment with only the base coat on but I'll get there over the next week or so.

Yeah those really deserve a reprint/re-mastering. I once offered to fund those new prints (for some freebies) but to no avail. Regardless you're doing a fantastic job with them!

On Bombards: An artillerist after my own heart!

On the SHTs: The grey still goes on nicely and I'm expecting your usual wizardry with patient highlights. No pressure! :)

Decided to holf fire on the shadow swords and start painting these guys instead while I consider my options on alternative SHTs. Base coat done so now onto the first highlight. The plan is to have them finished by the end of the week. Possibly a tall order but I like a challenge :-)

Once the vanquishers (in the background) are done then I think that's all the tanks done for this army. Onlyl taken a couple of years :P
