TURN 1: Gargants win initiative.

G: Realizing that the contagions engines are totally unprotected from my planes i order my Fighta-bombers to ground attack them right away. 1 engine is killed (2BM).
G: Second formation of Fighta-Bombers retain and ground attack the contagion engines again, wiping them out. Thats a good start.
L: Plague tower marches on left flank.
G: Gargant tries to sustain but holds instead, even with the help of the SC. It regroups.
L: Coven on right flank doubles forward.
G: Supa-stompa in middle doubles thru forest and fires on coven killing 1 land transporter (3BM).
L: Plague tower on right flank doubles forward and fires on Supa-stompa striipng 1 shield (1BM).
G: Supa-stompa on left flank uses road to double forward towards the middle.
L: Plague tower on right flank advances a little and fires on supa-stompa for 1BM.
G: Supa-stompa on left flank doubles into forest.
L: BTS-Coven in middle doubles into forest.
G: Killa Kanz doubles backward to get out of charge range from Coven.
L: Coven on right flank doubles behind mountain.
G: Great Gargant on left flank doubles towards the middle with the help of "push em" rule.
L: Defilers advaces and fires on Supa-Stompa for 1BM.

END PHASE:

Fire does 1DC to Great Gargant. Ouch.

TURN 2: LatD wins initiative.

L: Plague tower on left flank marches to middle.
G: Supa-Stompa in middle sustains on defilers, also catching plague tover and BTS-coven in forest under the blast template. 2 defilers are destroyed and the formation breaks. Plague Tower gets 2BM and BTS-oven looses 3 stands (5BM). Thats alot of bang for the buck.
L: Coven on right flank doubles into forest and fires on killa kanz for 1BM.
G: Gargant by blitz sustains on rightmost plaguetower doing 5DC and breaking the formation.
G: Supa-stompa retains and doubles towards right flank, probably firing on something (why would i retain otherwise??) but i forgot to write it down...
L: BTS-Coven holds and regroups shedding 4 out of 6 BM:s.
G: Fighta-bomber ground attacks coven in forest on right flank destroying 1 land transporter (2BM). Defensive AA only does 1BM.
L: Plague tower dooubles on right flank. Fires on Supa-Stompa for 1BM.
G: Great Gargants uses "push em" rule again and doubles towards BTS-Coven and fires on them killing 2 stands (3BM).
L: Coven on right flank advances and fires with 1 shot on the Supa-Stompa. That lone shot goes right through the armour and causes a critical hit!!! (2BM)
G: Fighta-bombers ground attacks coven on right flank killing 1 technical, 1 land transporter and 2 stands (5BM). Defensive AA does 1BM on the planes.
G: killa kanz on right flank tries to sustain, holds, and regroups.
G: Supa-stompa on left flank doubles right in between both T&H objectives. With no enemies in sight the crew decides to throw a party inside the metal behemoth.

END PHASE:

Plague Tower fails to rally.
Defilers rally.
Fires does another DC of damage to the Great Gargant. Ouch again.

15 (!!) Plague zombies teleport in on the left most T&H objective on the left flank. Party is cancelled inside Supa-Stompa.

TURN 3: Gargants win initiative

G: Great Gargant uses the "push em" rule to engage the BTS-Coven in the forest. It also chooses to intermingle the plague tower thats hiding behind the forest.
The Coven is wiped out for the loss of 3 shields and the BTS objective is claimed. The plague tower also breaks. The Great Gargant consolidates towards the LatD blitz to claim that objective too.
G: Killa Kanz are inspired by their head honcho and decides to retain the initiative. They engage the coven in the forest on the right flank. They win the combat for the loss of 2 kanz.
L: Defilers hold and breaks.
G: Supa-stompa in middle doubles and fires on Coven behind mountain killing 2 stands (4BM).
L: Coven marches to their own blitz to contest it.
G: Fighta-bombers ground attacks zombies on left flank killing 2 (3BM).
G: Supa-stompa on left flank retains and engages the zombies. No damage is done to either side but the zombies still wins the combat! Thats what you get for partying on working hours ladz!
L: Plaue tower advances forward and fires on Great Gargant for 1BM.
G: Supa-stompa in middle uses "push em" to double and contest both LatD T&H objevtives.
G: Gargant doubles to blitz and claims the DtF objective.

Gargants win 2-0 in turn 3 (BTS and DtF).

My thoughts:

First of all Nitpick hadn't played a game of Epic in a year i think. Secondly the list was based on fluff rather than on tournament balance which made it very cool to look at but kinda bad to play competetive with.
Being Nurgle-themed it meant that there was not a single formation in the list that was greared towards anti tank/WE warfare. So it was very hard to deal with the Gargants.
If Nitpick would have seen the opening for me to grab the DtF objective and marched his last Plague tower to contest that we would have played a fourth turn. I'm pretty sure i still would have won on taking the blitz again and maybe clearing out the zombies and thus grabbing the T&H.

The composition of Nitpicks army makes it hard to take any good data outof this report other than that Father Nurgle doesn't handle titans well.
The Supa-stompas worked very well again with their MW barrages. Th Great Gargant tore a whole in the nurgle forces without getting a single scratch. 15 dice in assault + 9 shields made him very very powerfull and i wasn't afraid to send him on his own deep into enemy territory.

Thanks for the report. I'm finding Plague Towers difficult to use in a LatD army at the moment too. Although I have just picked the list up again recently.

"Run away!" pretty much sums it up I think. Usually a viable last resort. Except these gargants all wore sneakers and had Russian doping ethics ;)

Plague Towers in LatD Redux and Death Guard Redux can't March. :(

What speed were you using them at? 15cm or 20cm?

Although I've not used LatD Redux yet, from my Death Guard experiences I'm planning to use a couple of them as transports for Big Mutant-heavy Covens and Double them towards a triangle of objectives in the enemy half, much like you did with the Gargants. A singleton one can also make a pretty good blitz guard, potentially going into Overwatch if there's nothing in immediate LoF to shoot at.

I used 15cm. The difference in playing experience was certainly a major factor, but the army is as mordoten said fluffy, and Burgle just don't have any capacity to take down a bunch of gargants. The towers are probably great against horde armies. I don't know, I have never met any.
