I think over the next year look at a decent basic rule set, and sell your wares in a boxed set.

He could do a boxed starter set with the plastics + a couple of metal addons extremely cheaply.

Hmm, the idea of a 6mm scaled boarding action game with tons of Novan Elites in heavy armour would be really cool...

A ruleset is in the works, need to talk with the creator about the rights, but I've got a good feeling about it.

After that we'd need to write some background and get some artwork going. I'll figure something out. :)

Let me chat with the creator to see what's possible. We've been talking about doing a very streamlined version of it. Would work great for us since we'd then only need to add some DiD specific stuff for it (equipment, etc). I could then perhaps also do 2d floor plans based on an updated version of my Ecorium terrain (which would "simply" need some tweaking and better rendering).

But yeah, nothing set in stone yet, still needs some stuff to be figured out. :)

That terrain is fantastic but perhaps a little ambitious for a small project.

I'm talking about a 2d version printed on paper/cardboard. So basically a flat gaming board. That shouldn't be too much of a problem, especially since you'd need to do printing and such anyways if you're planning on releasing a boxed game. :)

That reminds me of the coloured printed game maps me and my brother used to play on when were kids, dungeon layouts etc, even the minatures were folded cardboard prints of orcs, elfs etc. But that was the very early 80s. ::)

Not saying it would not work, but the Lazer mdf stuff is pretty cool if you can bag it at the correct money ;)

Look at the new games companies like GW have put out, they use the same type of boards. No need for mdf.

The pre-orders got some coverage over at Tabletop Fix.

There have been only a very few who've managed to really make the MDF stuff look convincing (I find most models to be rather flat looking). A floor plan akin to this would be interesting, otherwise stick to printed cardboard:
