This is compounded by the delayed (or reluctance) of GWUS to release Epic:A in the US.  This is a load of cr@p in my opinion, even with limited support it should have been availible worldwide from the start.

Hi!

I agree. Couldn't really figure out why it wasn't released by all GW's at the same time like most of their games.

GWUS is of late, doing a lot of dubious and customer hostile things.

Who knows if they'll really support anything beyond the core games.....

it wasn't released because it's a SG release, and we can't compare it to any other release because it's the first SG release (all other Fanatic games were released as GW before the formation of the SG team).
As Jervis explained, the SG production/distribution system is handled differently from the core GW system.
SG also have to cope with the various policy of Local GW incarnation (GW-US, GW-Oz...). The current success is for europe, since SG is working at the european scale (apart the translation issue). Jervis allready stated that similar distribution system will come for the US and then OZ.

The amount of production strenght and advertising/support (overall, the amount of investment) GW is willing to put into fanatic games seems pretty limited, and i must say i would be surprised if Epic:A get any support in GW outside UK. In europe, there wasn't anything in WD outside UK. neither french, spanish, not german edition got anything...

The fact is, E:A seem to sell quite well WITHOUT the usual advertising/propaganda in WD, wich seems to make GW right about their choice considering the very limited promotion of the game, even if us player would quite like to get as much materials and coverage as possible.
I must admit, anyway, that the playtesting give us much material available from the launch of the game (number of lists available for example) more than any game had at launch it seem. Even if most of those list are not yet "tournament official", they are nevertheless quite finalized and playable.

Another thing to notice : the Rulebook having been out of stock 2 times now obviously mean it sells very well : which may encourage GW to make more rules available online, as the economic model proved good and working. This is quite good news, as i think the extensive playtesting the game had is one the factor that make the rules so good (Most player consider this is the best incarnation of the epic system so far, after all, and i'm one of those), and the result seem to indicate the same method may now be applyed to other games.

Well more WD coverage would be nice, but Epic will get coverage every issue in Fanatic mag which is due to start in May. It will be bi-monthly for the first few issues, then switching to a monthly release around September.

I think combining all the specialist game magazines into one (Fanatic mag) is a good idea, and could help draw more players into the specialist games since they get the magazine to read about one game and then get sucked into the others too  :D

But this isn't a release schedule, it's actually on the new release page at the start of the Dwarf, colour pics and all. If it's a typo that has been picked up, why has it reappeared? If I sound a bit frustrated, it's 'cause I want to get some of them too :)

Yeah White Dwarf and the online store are famous for getting these kind of things wrong.

I'd go with what Jervis says, so far every time theres been confusion about what comes in one of the boxes Jervis has always been right and the WD\mail order ppl wrong ;p

Well I have a 3 issue sub. to Fanatic Mag (converted Epic Mag sub.) and I'm not sure when I'll see that here in the US ?  ???  But as soon as I get the word, I'll call G/W US and start ordering E:A ... May ... June ... ?  ???

Hi!

I wonder what the real release US date will be, trolls sometimes give conflicting dates.

I would like to add more to this bemoaning of epic coverage and publicising but i fear there is nothing more to add.

I believe a subscription to this new fanatic mag may be in order to satisfy my epic BFG and Mordheim needs. When will i be able to subscribe from and how much will it set me back (we poor students are very pound consious, you know what they say every pound saved is.......well about a half a pint contribution in a reasonbly priced licensed establishement to the purschase of an alcaholic beverage which one has the desire to consume..... at least i think it goes something like that)

Hmmm, I wonder what the price of a script would be here in the US?  My better half is already somewhat irritated that I subscribe to 3 computer games mags already, plus Car&Driver.  Have to find a justification here...think brain think!

Ermm... tanks crush cars. Epic has tanks. Fanatic mag has Epic articles. You must keep up with the latest crushing hammering smashing technology.

Good? I'd tell myself that.

Looks like the Valkyrie\vulture packaging changed, Jervis posted this yesterday in response to a question about the  box contents listed in WD:

This is a typo. Valkyries come in a blister pack of two models, while Vultures come in a *different* blister pack of their own that contains four models. This means that you need two packs of Valk's to have enough to carry a formation, but unfortunately we couldn't fit four Valk's into a blister pack

Thats odd....the models look about the same to me.  If you could get 4 Vultures in a blister, why not 4 Valkyries? :{

In reply to my own question above:

http://forums.specialist-games.com/epic40k....ID=1812

Insanity!  $70+ US for a twelve month subscription!  Maybe when it is released in the US, the price will come down, but it couldnt come down much.
