cool report! What were your thoughts on the Skitarii?

I think there was a bit of confusion about the robots. The colossus were mentioned as firing multi-meltas they don't have. The Crusaders have the MM.

i will make sure he is given a good beating for his robot error, must have been some dodgy ad mech code that caused the mix up between the two. ;)

i love the skitarii,

i cant make the praetorians work, they get shot up before they can get into cc even in a shielded armoured transport,

minoris, im still figuring out if they are better in a unit of 2 or as an additon to formations, probably best to plug at or ap gaps in formations.

a good mix of robot options, still another option would be nice, the more the better imo for ad mech

a formation of seculors maybe 6 strong? as an elite unit/bodyguard would be a nice option.

having said all that i have only played two games with them and ive got stuff ive never used before like orbital support to try out.

hah, yes. I thought it was just a mistake on the name until the crusaders moved a bit later :)

Praetorians are tricky. They are tough to kill but they are also a bit scary up close so they tend to be fire magnets. I find they work well either as garrison formations that are really hard to shift or in transport to get into assaults. For the later, you really need to time it right or they get wiped out. Because of that they tend to work best in cities or areas where you have terrain to hide them in before you attack.

I tend to use my skitarii on foot and transport sagitarii so I get more use out of the separate minorus formation for shooty stuff. I haven't had a chance to try a mechanized Skitarii demi-century with minorus. Attached minorus are quite fluff though :)

It might be fun to try out a demi-century with minorus transport and a shooty minorus. around 500-550 points but could be pretty cool.

the separate formation for minoris may be the way to go, do you mean a formation of two minorus, a corvus + a shooting minoris then load a separate infantry formation into the corvus? just so i understand it.?

that reminds me, the mechanised bit - the chimedons a great little unit.

No, you'd take two minorus upgrades on the Sagitarii or Demi-century. One would be a corvus and the other shooty it'd all be part of the same formation. For a separate minorus formation two shooty would be the only way to go.

id like to get a formation like that! but you can only take a max of one on Army Forge?

is that the same for praetorians? x1 transport x1 shooty + praetorians might work?

Might be a bug in army forge. The only restriction on upgrades to core formations is you can take a max of three. There are some other restrictions like the 0-1 magos but you can take three minorus upgrades to a demi-century or sagitarii formation.

Praetorians aren't part of the core formations but they have a special case allowance to add a single Minorus upgrade so they can have transport but it isn't required to take the corvus pod so you could have a shooty minorus backing up the formation.
