Scourn for Inquisitorial models I have on order some of the DID elite troopers:

These mimic the Kasrkin troopers from 40k and make sense as the shock troops that might join GK into battle

They didn't feel very elite. I know this is hard to translate to this game (from how they felt in normal 40k atleast). They were very much a fire fight army, with the purgs being 2+ FF. Besides in a FF, I never felt like I had anything that was very killy that I could rely on. The Psycannons never really came into play much as with I was doing a FF or the enemy was FFing me or CCing.

It sounds like you weren't controlling the tempo of who engaged and when (no offense intended!...I'm hardly a master). In my opinion the units can't be too much more "elite" as they'll get too expensive. I also can't see a whole lot of options for making them more elite than standard SMs. Maybe you could use the mobility and the Commander ability to combine formations into killer assaults?

Also they should have something in either resolution with demons/demon engines or have some kind of bonus.

This would just add points for no effect in most games. Epic already has enough rock/paper/scissor elements for my liking. This would just add another.

Might be better getting more activations from inquisitorial warbands but not positive of the modesl to use for it, and the lack of a dreadknight model hurts as I would like to use them also

You could use any sort of guard/human models for a warband. I'm using Imperial knights for my Dreadknights until I can track down some sort of forumware or convert my own using the old plastic Knights. They are a bit big but I can live with that for now.

How does the no garrison rule work right now, then? I understand the theme of it but it seems like a big negative for an elite army with a low number of models.

I think these are the closest model to a dreadknight we can get for a while.

I think the no garrison is fine. You kind of answered your own query in your justification. Elite army with few men... not many spare grunts for guard duty on isolated outposts really...

Yeah i don't see an issue with no garrison.

One point that was raised after a game was whether the Dreadknights are overpowered, with high movement, teleport, RA4+ and Fearless. Any opinions on this?

Does the Dreadknight compensate for lack of Vindicators / Whirlwinds, though? :-X

Oh I forgot to ask - is no one using the Inquisitorial retinues? They CAN garrison and they seem a must have for boosting activations and offering roadblocks to enemies.

What about the Landers / Aquila option for them? I wondered if that was worth a shot.

I'm going to be testing the Landers / Aquila option for the inquisitor warband in the Sob in the next set of testing, I know its slightly different but I'll post my findings.

Cool! It's not something that has ready proxies which is a shame. I was looking for them on eBay but the prices were NUTS. I guess we could use Imperial Guard flyers as proxies? Just a thought.

I'm going to try and do a CAD design when I get better at 3D modeling at some point.
