Still damn annoying when somebody does it with 30 seconds to go.

Quote (nealhunt @ 07 2003 April,06:39) | Where have you guys found Reavers for less than $15-20 each or Warhounds for less than $8-12 each? |
Neal,
Deals are still out there. Here is an auction that just closed with two Reavers at about $13 each. After you add in shipping to the US they are just about at $15 each.
Once you start watching ebay on a regular basis deals come up every once in a while. Believe it, they are there if you watch for them.

Dafrca,
I just wish there was a way for us to coordinate our bids. I often end up bidding against you guys!
Sometimes I avoid bidding just necause it's one of you guys and I don't want to drive the price up for you.
I use the monniker Max-yidl on E-bay.
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

dafrca: I'm not being a jerk, but $15-20 for Reavers is what I said I expected to see. Your quote of me even said that. Those went for $15 ea, so I don't see the "deal" there.
Plus, my history of overseas trades (UK to US) has not gone well, so if I'm buying from the UK, it has to be a REALLY good deal.

I do not think you are a jerk. No worry there. I take our exchanges as informational and helpful. I have found the discussions to help me in having realistic expectations on both stuff I am selling (see the Ork Blister thread) and buying (this thread for example).
I just took your comment ("Where have you guys found Reavers for less than $15-20 each or Warhounds for less than $8-12 each?") too mean that is the price you wanted to find and that you are seeing ebay above that. I misunderstood what your point was. No harm, no foul.
If you are looking for Reavers at about $10 or less, then you are right, you will never find them at that price. Not when the only production model is at $30.
Now that I understand what you ment, I can say we agree. $12-15 is about right and they can be found at that price.

That makes sense.
I am willing to pay the low end of those price ranges ($15/$8), which is why I was surprised when the overwhelming consensus was that the lot which prompted me to start this thread was overpriced. IIRC, it was near the low end of those ranges, not counting the plastic Warlords.

I have allowed items to go because I knew the person who was high bidder. What a few of us have done around here is agree to not bid if it is an item we only "sort of" want but at the same time no offense if we end up bidding against each other.
We did this because one auction two of us did not bid and the third (the "high" bid) ended up loosing it for much lower then we would have paid. So we thought, no more feeling bad if you want an item and thus bid on that item.

Ah, I understand. Yes, some people expressed that it was too much money. My first post was about the "error" of such a large lot as one auction. I thought (and still believe) that the person could have made a little more if they had sold them in a few smaller lots. You do remember correctly. If you count the 16 Revers @ $15, the 5 Plastic Warlords @ $10, and 8 Warlords @ $8 then you are at $354 and the starting bid/close was at $325.
What I was thinking was that even if someone wanted a couple of Reavers for $15 each the auction that started this thread was too much money for most gamers to pay just for collecting a few models. Further it was too much for those who buy and split up large auctions for resale as the starting bid was too close to what you could sell the individual models for. There would have been only a little profit for the effort.
That is why in my first post on this thread I said it would either not sell or only go for the min. bid and that is what happened. It sold for the min bid of $325.
I believe we are in agreement and maybe just mis-understood each other a little. No big deal. I am sure we both ment well.

Perhaps you should get your stuff delived to me to pass on, and my US stuff delivered to you?
By the way, I am CyberSammael on EBay. Look out for me!

Hi,
Well I get around a bit on ebay finding stuff for myself that are rare. Currently I search in the U.S., Germany and the U.K. So far I have only had delivery problems where they are delayed as opposed to not getting anything. There has been only one auction seller who didnt send 2 40k figures but it wasnt worth the aggro or the negative feedback.
I have started to look for stuff for other people here on the list and normally I get good deals. Darkone26 is the new id (used to be my hotmail addy) as someone managed to get into my account and change stuff so details had to change.
I know sniping is annoying and Jimbo's advice is good. I only snipe when I have discovered the auction very very late otherwise I just bid what I expect and thats it.
As for co-ordination it is possible if selected people do the searching like I do. It doesnt guarantee anything but at least you know who wants what. Plus if there are overseas auctions maybe using a contact in the U.S. could help with delivery to ensure the item is recieved. I tend to use that idea sometimes both in the U.K. and the U.S.
Thats my thoughts anyway.

My EBay ID is Tempestmagus.
I usually lowball bids on the off-chance no one will outbid me, so go ahead and bid away. If there is something I really want, I'll post it to let you guys know.

The only stuff I look for anymore are rares and collectibles like the Psi-Titan, metal marines, recovery Leman Russ, and the like.
I really have just about everything else that I could want.
I also lowball once in awhile.
I agree that it is annoying to be bidsniped, but that's the way it goes. There is a program out there that protects against bidsniping, by the way.
The only things I really bid on anymore are thing noone wants anymore like... BOOKS! ?
I even get bidsniped on those sometimes too! ?
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.
P.S. DarkOne-26, I appreciate your help looking for things.

Legion-4,
Yes, I received them. They were stuck at the post office. the parcel boxes were full at the apartment so they brought it back to the post office and I had to go down to get it, which is a pain since I often work until after the post office closes!
Thanks and Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.
P.S. Are you willing to trade just one of the metal Ork Tractor Beams?
