I have boxes of Epic unit cards, some black and white, some matt colour and some gloss coloured.
Are all these unit cards from version two of the game?

from your description i'd say 'yes'
the black and white ones will be the base ones that came with the Space Marine Starter box - should be units for Space Marines, Orks and Eldar
the matt ones will be from the expansions, Armies of the Imperium, Renegades and Warlords.
the glossy ones will likey be from the Titan Legions box set and any later white dwarf pull outs (issue 190+ i think had card?)
