Back in the 90's I had a pretty decent sized Saim Hann army. I think it would have been 10-15 thousand points.
I've decided to start sprucing up the old chaps, and have made a start with these guys.

Not the best paint jobs but are better than the previous hack jobs they had.
I still need to base the vehicles. I'll give them the same base as the revenant for extra coolness.

Next up will be some bikes, and wip on the titans.
Adieu.

There's always time to strip and repaint and join the red team, you know!

I love how this force looks. Really shows you can put a contemporary scheme on classic models and they really stand the test of time.

Ok, the original grav tank designs were a bit out there, but none the less this force is looks brilliant and I love the titan.

For me I really like how all the old vehicles were distinct shapes and designs rather than 'falcons with different guns' I mean you can forgive the imperials for all the russ/chimera/rhino variants as they're explained by the whole STC thing but the eldar....? Really?

Thanks for the comments everyone.
The older vehicles predate the current styling, but work pretty well on their own. If they were mixed with more contemporary design vehicles they might look a bit odd, but with only older models, and a consistent scheme they work ok.
Actually, that's something I've noticed during my time in this hobby. If you stick to a uniform scheme with a limited palette you can get away with having a diverse group of models, as they still look cohesive with the same scheme.

Next up are my "count as" shining spears.

These are just regular jet bike models. To make them different from the regular ones I have given them a "rising sun" pattern on the fairings.

Blurry phone pics ftw!

I created an autarch and exarch by sticking an exarch wing on the back of the bikes. I also added a foil and paper clip banner to the autarch's wingman.

I don't think my hand is as steady as it used to be, but they pass muster.

Next up will be some pics of the based vehicles, and wip of my titans (with magnetised weapons).

How you made those Exarchs is very clever. Consider that idea stolen! borrowed!
