So, I'm tempted to make another try this year. Last year's attempt got botched without even a single brush stroke. I did, however, manage to build cultists enough for five covens, so this year will see them painted.

I'm going for a Lost and the Damned army, beginning with Khorne.

The plan is something like this:

Well. I have finally started my cult. I have built some infantry to paint (61 stands), and these are pictures of the first sprue bars. The cult is led by Chaos Marine advisors. I wanted to paint Khorne without the gold and reds, and wanted to go with black, silver and red instead. Then I saw a chapter that fit the bill perfectly, the daemon-summoning one from the Siege of Vraks - The Sanctified. Black helmets and gloves, red armour. These are sprinkled throughout the cultists (one to 2/3 stands.)

And the rebels. These are uncorrupted DRM miniatures. I have two paint schemes for the first two covens. Khaki/red and red/black. These need their final highlights, only paint and wash at this stage.


The first two covens are somewhat corrupted (include a portion of beastmen and mutants, but every cultist stand will contain a heavy weapon)

So, I've finished off two covens' worth of cultists and various support, and am in the middle of basing/rebasing. I've opted for Fenris Games ply bases, which I endorse. Having two armies based on rectangular bases, I wanted to go for something new.

As I've said before, the idea of the army is for Chaos Marines plotting and orchestrating a planetary uprising, with the aid of demons and demon engines. The Khorne section will show off various mutations along the the route of beastmen (beastmen and minotaurs). Chaos Marines are sprinkled throughout the force, and the Cultists (unlike the upcoming mutants) all tote one heavy weapon/base.

The cultists are a mix of Dark Realm and GW plastics.

Now, I am working on more Chaos Marines, and two covens' worth of mutants (heavily mutated), and a traitor company (without mutations) fighting in the colours of the Sanctified. Once they are painted, I'll do the bases.
