Those buildings are great! Some of the little details like wood grain texture and support beams sticking out really bring them to life and make them stand out.

The most anticipated addition to the Orc army - the Skorcha - this puts an end to the days of cold food.

The design is classic, something similar to an Orc WarTrack with the customary "Bin-Turret".

I've finally got o grips with painting the Ork-skin. I've painted so many Orcs in so many scales that you should think I know how to do it.

Also notable I usually use a anti gloss varnish, because I do not like the glossy shine, but in this case I like it - don't know why, probably getting old.

Have a nice weekend

Edit: spelling

Those Orks & buildings are great, classic design but very well done.

This weeks yield, ready for varnishing.

Image

This weeks projects were Deathkopta, Gunwagons, Flakwagons, Zapguns as Big Gun and Gunwagon.

I started with a "tank design" - that's the big one on the left in the next picture - but it was not orky enough.
So I made it shorter and higher, which made it a bit more orky - that's the small tank in the center of the following picture.
While looking at it, I started to wonder how that thing could be the fastest tank in the game, with treads like that.
So I decided to take the wagon in Gunwagon more literally.

Image

There are ordinary wagons with a single gun at the side, wagons with gun turrets, Flakwagons and wagons with a zap gun.

The one with the gun at the side have a crew of 2 or three, manning the gun and looking out - for trouble presumably.

Image

The Deathkopta is a single seater with - despite the Epic profiles - twin-machineguns and some bombs.

Image

Last not least the Zapgun as a Big Gunz variant. Basically the same Zap Gun as used on the Gunwagon, but on it's own carriage. Best to be seen on the first to pictures.

Most of the new stuff in a single picture.

Image

My plan is to finish the army (3k) points till next Wednesday.
That would be a first.
I painted a standard-sized army (edit) in three weeks (/edit) before (Warhammer, Beastmen, 2k), but this time I will also have designed and made (printed) all the models.
I hope I can keep the schedule, because I have already an appointment for a game with the army on Wednesday :)

Really, really great! I think you should maybe think about selling a few of your designs.

Well, it's official then: The future has just arrived :)
I love what you have done here. No doubt in my mind that the future of wargame miniatures is home printing. I particularly like the evolution of the ork tank. It is easy to imagine a future with purchasable master schematics that you can modify and customize with a minimum of 3d modelling skill. and print out at home.

Wow wow wow wow! Superb. I've been left behind recently in the technology scheme of things and it took me quite a while to realise that all the ork stuff was matter printed. I have a new company I hope to start soon that may mean the selling of large swathes of my mini's but with this kind of hope for the future then I could simply recreate the entire collection with an investment in technology in the future. Stunning.

72 hours to go - the plot thickens - 1 troop type done, 2 to go.

This time there are Stompas.
I hadn't had a clear image what the Stompa should look like, except it shouldn't look like the original Epic Stompa.
When you look at my Stompa it's easy to see where the inspiration comes from - the current 40k Stompa incarnation.
It's a bit old, but I'm pressed - by my self imposed schedule - and I really like the overall look.

Of course there a different designs I went through.
The first revision was the cone like one, the second from left.
The next one was a bit more rounded with the bottom seam perpendicular to the ground. <edit>The leftmost</edit>
The last one has a body not as wide - wouldn't you believe that, the rightmost turned it's back while I wasn't looking.
Image

The variants are made from combining the body with a head, weapons, a belly face and or a reactor/steam thingie/backpack.
Image

The arms, head and body, if applicable including backpack and belly face, are separate pieces. There are only two arms yet the twin and the single shoota. I'll add a close combat arm later.
Image
I like the overall design, but I'm not sure which revision I like best.
Having said that - I probably find the "cone" the least attractive - on the other hand it's got some orky naiveness about it.

Have a nice Sunday.
