Quote (TuffSkull @ 23 2004 Feb.,23:58) | I wouldnt advise advertising them a great deal (possibly just notify the regs by email?) as they wouldnt work if too many people got online & filled the room with "noise", but a decent sized group asking a guest about particular areas could be very interesting - especially if theres a way to save the conversation to then turn into an article. | The normal method of doing this is to have the guest speaker in a private chat with the moderator who picks out questions from the main room (possibly with the help of sub moderators) diplomatically phrases them (so no 'Games Workshop Sux!!!!' messages get through) and presents them to the guest.

Well, to say so, I'm not really in the whole "chatroom" thingy. I was never positively attuned to online chats, and I simply do not see the reason. I know the community is BIG. Problem is if there are really enough people for the chatroom to make sense.

Of course you realise everyone who comes in will be chanting asl like some kind of a mantra if it is anything like the other chat rooms I have frequented.

I don't understand. Could you explain this, please?

It is the SOP for anyone in a chat room trying to find out the 'age','sex','location' of the other room members.
Of course everybody then promptly lies about it so there is very little point in asking in the first place. Normally guys ask it, guys answer it and girls remain silent.

Thought it was genius... Didnt know it was used elsewhere already

It is genius - hence it will be truely and properly stolen and abused.
