Very nice Salamanders and thanks for the run down on the decals, I've always wanted to give it a try but not been sure how to deal with white.

Thanks

You can or course use clear decal paper and paint the mini white, the clear salamanders' head would then show through the clear part of the decal. I find this process more messy though. When putting decals on dark backgrounds it helps to have the white decal paper to stop colour bleeding through.

I finally got my Salamanders painting guide completed and posted to my blog for your viewing/using pleasure.

Here are a few pics of my pair of newly finished Land Raider mkIIs.

Love them! Beautiful work! My only minor critique might be that the mud is caked on a little thick on the tracks when the tanks are otherwise pretty clean looking.

In fact they aren't that clean. When you enlarge the shots you can see that the lower part of the tanks has some mud too.

Very nice job.

Yes, brumbaer, thank you, I am capable of clicking on images and enlarging them. My opinion still stands. You may have a differing one.

Thanks, were would you argue that there needs to be more mud?

No, I'd actually think that there should be less mud. And, I should clarify - the clash comes in because I think the highlights are very extreme, and that is more of a "cartoony" look, whereas a lot of mud on the tracks like that is more of a gritty / realistic look. So maybe I didn't articulate it clearly enough at first. It sort of creates a clash of two styles. Does that make any sense? You have cartoony on the hull, and gritty on the tracks, and it clashes just a bit.

Don't get me wrong, though. Still looks amazing as is.

That makes sense. Not sure how to make the mud 'cartoony' (hate, but accept that phrase); maybe try highlighting the mud?

Thanks for your critique.

Maybe it just looks a bit flat compared to hull? If anything, you could try adding some darker shades to give it some depth rather than highlighting it up? Just details of course, they look great as is!
