Thanks for the "heads up".

Just finished the latest print and it looks good.

Trying another one, same settings and method.

In 8 hours I know wether this is the solution.

Hope it works better for you.

Don't throw any more disasters away. Sure you'll find a use for them.

Ok, second print is also good.

Hmmmh - I know what I did to get there, but it feels more like dark magic than handicraft.

On to the next project.

This time I show something I will not make. Or better something I made, but will not pursue.
I decided to create some context for my Bastions.
So a fortress like thingie it should be.
Being an old Fantasy hand, it came out a bit too fantastic (excuse the pun).
The images are in BW, because the yellow resins needs more love and care to photograph than I was able to give.

The little turret is an extra part and could also be placed on the corner section.

As I said I will not pursue this design, the final design will be closer to the Bastion.

Have a nice Sunday.

I really like the fortress. It suits both fantasy and sci fi. But then Ive always like the idea that in the future, we would go back to using ancient methods of warfare design!

Yeah everyone is taking a play from Frank Herbert's Dune where the presence of shield technology trumps highly destructive artillery and supporting bombardment therefore ancient styles of attack/defense and weaponry are used. He of course was doing it so he could focus of the political and espionage and religious aspects of the plot without needing to worry about fantastical far future weapons. GW and the rest seem to be doing it because sieges and guys running around with chainsaw swords are damb cool!! :)

Those Bastions and walls are beautiful!!! Any chance of getting them up on Shapeways or something? In particular, it would be really cool for Imperial Fists players to have those Bastions.

Thanks for your interest,
I'm not keen on putting the parts on shape ways, because it will cost time and money.
I will have to have at least one sample made, costing some money - don't know how much have to check wether there is a way to get a quote - and most likely I will have to make some changes costing time and money again. And even worse I do not need the models.

I'll ask a friend wether he can make casts from the Bastion.

Ok, getting a quote was simple.

Ceramics about 35$.
Simple White Plastic 70$.
Frosted Detail 180$.
Frosted Ultra Detail 250$.

Values arbitrarily rounded.

I have no experience with shape ways, so I can't say what material is "necessary".

Have a nice week.

Interesting... Are the pieces hollow or solid?

By my experience, for fortress walls White Strong and Flexible is good enough to give a rough, stony texture, while FD or FUD is necessary for a more clean, "metallic" finish...
